The two statements:

Jarrad Waite, North Melbourne, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against Tom Lynch, Adelaide Crows, during the second quarter of the Round Seven match between North Melbourne and the Adelaide Crows, played at Blundstone Arena on Saturday May 6, 2017.

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Adelaide Crows Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with medium impact to the head. The incident was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacts the penalty. An early plea enables the player to accept one-match sanction.

Contact between Hawthorn’s Shaun Burgoyne and the Sydney Swans’ Sam Reid from the second quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. The panel said Reid had the ball and was trying to break clear from a group of players. The Sydney player came towards Burgoyne, who tackled Reid immediately. Burgoyne lost his feet in the tackle while Reid sought to dispose of the ball as he was taken to ground. While Burgoyne was falling, he used Reid’s momentum to take him to ground and the panel said there was no sling motion or double-action in his tackle. Reid was not rotated or driven with excessive force into the ground and it was the view of the panel no further action was required.

Fair dinkum, the rationale for letting Burgoyne off could be applied just about word for word to Waite's incident.
Farcical.
We have a professional sport where a players financial, medical and psychological state is of the utmost importance.
Burgoyne tackled an opponent who attempted to dispose of the ball with a legal tackle. Ditto Waite.
Burgoyne'sopponent hit his head while tackled. Ditto Waite.
Burgoyne'sopponent was concussed. Ditto Waite.
Burgoyne did not mean to hurt his opponent. Ditto Waite.
Burgoyne'sopponent spent the majority of the game off the field. Ditto Waite.
Burgoyne was cleared by the MRP.
Say no more.

the statement says that Reid wasn't rotated. If this is so, then why didn't Burgoyne land on his back? Its clear as day the Burgoyne rotates Reid.

What a crock. The MRP keep deciding the punishment and then working backwards. Its bullshit.

And what can you do when you can't site previous incidents to help your cause. I look forward to garner getting a week for drilling an opponent into the turf in the future and them citing the waite incident. Completely ignoring the fact that shaun got off.

When you read the summaries they are completely different. One talks about the medical report and what happened to the player whereas the other one looks at excuses for the tackler making no reference to the injury. The MRF always makes reference to impact and it's the responsibility of the tackler. Shaun B didn't lose his footing in any way.

Precedence should be used at the tribunal
I look forward to the day a player takes it to court. It will happen, think about the trigger clauses that are in contracts now for certain amounts of games played etc. If a player misses a bonus or contract extension due to a bullshit suspension, where they can't defend themselves using precedent, it won't be long until it ends up in court.

Hope this ends up happening or some inquiry is made by a politician one day about this disgrace.Don't know if it ever will but it's a dream of mine for somebody high up the AFL to pay for this sham.

The fact that there is no mention of a North player getting rubbed out by the MRP circus is probably the best indicator of what a soft, insipid effort we put in on Saturday. Not many tackles and not a hard hit in evidence at all.

A bad loss, a bye, and nothing MRP-related to get the blood boiling on a Monday. Going to be a long fortnight...
