The MRP has been a tour de farce this year.
Cunners goes for someone headbutting his knee. Wines gets off when he jumps off ground and hits bloke in head (the head is sacrosanct, if you jump off the ground you're gone...wait, what did we say?)
Redpath goes for a push around the neck, Martin gets off for punching someone in face (inappropriate contact to the face? no one has never heard of it, that'll do).
Meanwhile the MRP takes a dimmer view of a tackle gone slightly wrong than a strike to the face.
I'm sure there are many more examples of the staggering inconsistency we're enjoying.

If I was in charge, I'd make the following changes:
  • tribunal can explain decisions with reference to previous decisions
  • players can include previous decisions in their defence
  • I'd only penalise a player the extra week penalty, that they don't suffer when they accept the MRP"s verdict, if their case is regarded as trivial. Again, I'd hope that allowing precedents will keep abuse to a minimum.

NORTH Melbourne defender Lachlan Hansen will not have to front the VFL Tribunal on Tuesday night after he accepted a $1200 fine and a reprimand for separate charges of striking and engaging in rough conduct in the Werribee-Williamstown match at the weekend.

Hansen was due to appear before the Tribunal at Ikon Park after he was reported for two separate incidents involving Williamstown player and former Kangaroos teammate Joel Tippett.

However, with no vision available of both incidents AFL Victoria was unable to accurately classify the reports and hence the need for Hansen to front the tribunal.

But that process was short circuited after the 150-game defender pleaded guilty to the separate reports, with North Melbourne and the officiating umpire satisfied with the outcome.

The rough conduct charge on Tippett was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact which saw Hansen receive a $600 fine.

He also copped a $600 fine for striking Tippett, with the incident classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.

Hansen, 28, is out of contract at North Melbourne and will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Sounds like a good outcome for Lachie. Was worried we might not see him again. Reading between the lines it sounds like the Club cut a good back room deal on this one. Something the Braves could learn from it seems.

3 weeks for Redpath lol.
The AFL judiciary is a complete and utter joke. Greene inserts his stops into Dahlhaus's cheek and gets fined $1500. Redpath slaps Davis with an open hand to the shoulder/neck and gets three weeks.

And Davis of all players. Davis is whacked by more players than anyone else in the AFL and no-one ever has a look at why they belt him.

Buckley and C.Scott talking about MRP in the media and that there should be an overhaul etc etc.

C.Scott has been opening his mouth all year about these things how about a fine for these Coaches.

Spoke to Lachie at the Jumper Sponsors Function way back when & he was none the wiser. We spoke with nausea about how sanitised the game has become. I got him to give me a couple of jumper punches and seriously, I was a bit dazed for a few minutes, but 5 minutes later, I felt brand new. These "judges" on the MRP are no better than the judges who awarded the fight to Azumah Nelson over Jeff Kennett at Dallas Brooks Hall. I was there with a stack of my mates, and we all thought Jeff won comfortably. I actually followed one of the judges back to McDonalds on Victoria Pde after the fight. As he was ordering, I took the pickles out of my cheeseburger, licked it (while eyeballing him), and flicked it at him. He soon got it.

C.Scott said something about T.Green kicking someone in the head and getting off. Last week Hardwick made comments on the free kick advantage Geelong have at their home ground.

Don't think it's right or his place to comment on these issues but i know what you mean.
