Herbert being too conservative in the first half and not wanting to take the deep 1 on 1's hurt them. along with all the other missed chances in the first half.

If Auburn played the first half they would of won by 4 scores.

He looked poor most of the day.

Thought the same of Bo Nix, obviously both in different stages of their career but then I thought the throw to hit his receiver on the sideline on 4th down late in the 4th quarter was the best of the game. Despite his inconsistency in the passing game was very impressed with Nixs ability to handle the last drive and just make plays when needed that scramble for a first down on the last drive was cam newton like.
In the other hand disappointing for Herbert these are the type of games and situations NFL scouts would have liked to see him takeover and just show he can get the W. Especially when a freshman QB on the other team was able to do just that.

Auburn running back JaTarvious Whitlow: "Nobody wanted to lose to Oregon. We feel like that's a bad reputation on them. What are they, ACC? Pac-12? I didn't even know what they were. A Pac-12 team coming in and beating an SEC team, we can't take that."

MWC vs AAC comparison

MWC
45-38 vs Arizona
35-18 vs North Colorado
35-38 @ Wake Forest
34-31 vs Purdue
31-52 vs* Colorado
36-31 @ Florida State
48-7 vs Colgate
39-31 vs Sam Houston State
37-31 vs Missouri
6-0 vs Weber State
56-23 vs Southern Utah
23-31 @ USC

Mountain West
9-3 overall
4-3 vs p5
0-0 vs g5
5-0 vs fcs

AAC
24-14 vs UCLA
24-21 vs Wagner
62-0 vs Florida A&M
42-14 vs FIU
7-28 @ Michigan State
0-49 vs Wisconsin
6-34 @ NC State
15-10 vs Ole Miss
56-12 vs Bucknell
45-7 vs Holy Cross
37-30 @ Arkansas State
31-49 @ Oklahoma
8-4 overall
2-4 vs p5
2-0 vs g5
4-0 vs fcs

Right now you give the edge to the Mountain West West. 2 of the Mountain West's losses were by 1 score on the road (3 points @ Wake Forest, 8 points @ USC) None of the American conferences losses were even 2 scores (21 points, 49, 28 and 18)

This week
MWC
Boise State vs Marshall
San Diego State @ UCLA
Colorado State vs Western Illinois
Nevada @ Oregon
Wyoming @ Texas State
Utah State vs Stony Brook
San Jose State vs Tulsa
Hawaii vs Oregon State
UNLV vs Arkansas State
Fresno State vs Minnesota

If we can add another 2 p5 wins Ill be over the moon (I expect Fresno State to get up and wouldn't be surprised if SDSU or Hawaii can pull it off)

AAC has
Cincinnati @ Ohio State
South Florida @ Georgia Tech
UConn vs Illinois
East Carolina vs Gardner-Webb
UCF @ Florida Atlantic
SMU vs North Texas
Tulane @ Auburn
Houston vs Prairie View A&M
Memphis vs Southern
Tulsa @ San Jose State

3 instant p5 losses. All hopes for the week rest on South Florida going into Atlanta and beating Georgia Tech. Also will need Tulsa to beat San Jose State to save any face as they'll have a head to head win over the mountain west

if SJSU wins I'd petition Craig Thompson to self proclaim the MWC as a p6 conference. Just to troll the AAC.

Clinker of a game underway in Louisville to finish week 1.

Run game on top with some big gains! 4 touchdowns in the 1st quarter - Louisville looking heaps better than the 2-10 team they were last year

Was this on this posted right after the back to back to back fumbles just prior to half time? Insane!
Yeah. First half was good. Nice even game then ND pulled away. But it was just as much Louisville just missing chances
