Chris Peterson will step down as Washington Head Coach after the bowl games. and move into a job in the Athletic department.

Jimmy Lake will takeover. He has been with Peterson since 2012 at Boise State.

Wonder how long Peterson will be out of coaching before he gets the itch to come back, and where he will land.

He crack s under pressure
1 bad season and being under the microscope of the media and he bolts.

What’s Id say in order of likelyhood

1) returns to boise State once Harsin leaves
2) gets drawn by the idea of a s**t p5 school with next to no pressure (similar to what les miles has in Kansas atm)
3) never returns
4) does actually miss coaching (I have my doubts). Takes the best offer going.
5) wants to go back to his dream position as offensive Co-ordinator. Joins a Texas/Alabama/usc caliber school and brings back Pete’s poison
6) feels like a challenge. Joins a shite g5 school (similar to bob davie at New Mexico)

Also, any news on Pete Kwiatkowski?
He’s been dc (codc last 2 years) for Petersen ever since Justin Wilcox (current cal coach) left boise after the fiesta win vs tcu
I wonder if he’d be bitter that lake equaled and now surpassed him and he’d leave washington

Bryan Harsin has been great at getting good coaches into boise, but it seems to be career coaches who don’t want to be there and just use us as a stepping stone. Wondering if he’d contemplate coming back (though, iirc I was anti him when he left lol)

Who you got in the Champ games? Anyone willing to tip a CFP shaking upset this weekend?
I would’ve tipped Georgia if they didn’t have half the offence out.
Guess the winner of the sec championship game is georgia tech

Ideally we get boise State/Cincinnati/Baylor/Lsu wins

Try and set up boise State vs Oklahoma (or even Alabama) :p

I can’t see clemson/Ohio State losing
If Lsu win they’re in
If Georgia win they’re in if small, Lsu is in, if blowout, Lsu out
Utah will be hoping Lsu win and big xii isn’t a blowout. Cause if it’s they could be jumped.

So assuming the highest ranked team wins their matches

Semi final = Lsu/Ohio State/clemson/Utah
Sugar = Oklahoma vs Georgia
Rose = Oregon vs Wisconsin
Orange = Virginia vs Florida
Cotton = penn State/Baylor vs Memphis

Also I don’t like how the cfp is positioning everyone heading into championship weekend.theyre setting it up so the AAC champ is in. I could tolerate missing to a 1 loss Memphis as it comes down to what conference you deem better. (Computers say AAC but I say that’s inflated by weak ooc record and winning easy games manipulating the computer) I’d disagree with their decision but I could understand it.
But Cincinnati defeating Memphis will look a better win than boise state defeating Hawaii. So they’d probable jump us that 1 position. Losing out to a 2 loss Cincinnati would be infuriating. Spanked (heck, shutout) by Ohio State and then beating a 4 win ucla team at home?
I’m honestly expecting to be backfilling into some random bowl (like we have recently ie. cactus bowl vs Baylor) as it is. But If it’s due to Cincinnati jumping us I’ll be pissed.

Utah win and they should get in over Oklahoma/Baylor.

The committee doesnt seem to rate Baylor with how they punished them for the loss a few weeks ago. Utah have been flying under the radar and scoring like 30 points a game since the USC loss [where they were missing a few players and was a road game] Committee has in the past been more forgiving of a loss in September over a Oct/Nov loss.

As much as I don’t believe style points matter early on
This week it does

Utah 24-21 oregon
Baylor 42-10 Oklahoma

I’d say Baylor’s in

Memphis 13-10 Cincinnati
Boise State 59-0 Hawaii
I’d say Boise’s in

I agree Utah has done more this year than Baylor that style points don’t matter. But h2h over Oklahoma? Might come down to who wins by more this week.

i disagree with both.

If it was Oklahoma winning 42-10 they might get in over Utah. but i dont see Boise jumping Memphis if you blow out a Hawaii team and the Bearcats play Memphis close.

Final 4 i think will be Ohio St, LSU, Clemson, Utah.

Utah, Oklahoma, App St, Boise St, Memphis, LSU, Ohio St, Clemson, UAB and Miami winning championships this weekend.

LSU will have to do something crazy like a 40-0 [doubt that LSU D can shutout Georgia] win to jump OSU. the committee seem to favor OSU because they have a good O and unlike LSU have a D. Clemson will be hoping for LSU more than OSU in the Semis.
