Alabama get the double bye, Arkansas into an off week. Gives more time for Tua to recover from the same ankle surgery that lead in to the CFP last season (except on his other leg this time).

LSU Auburn the pick of the games this week, especially after Wisconsin slipped on the Illinois banana skin

We get the Big 10 double in the afternoon kickoffs. Penn State have struggled recently against any kind of MSU team (good/bad/in-between). James Franklin is 1-4 against Dantonio. I'd be take the unders in this one (without even knowing the line).

And down goes #5! Could well be the end of the CFP chances of anyone west of Baton Rouge this year
Na, 1 Loss is no longer a season over thing. when you get that 2nd loss its all over.

Not a good day for the Big12. with Oklahoma, Texas and Iowa St going down.

Season over for Wisconsin and Auburn.

If Utah can get through Cal today and Washington nextweek they will look good heading into a championship game against Oregon. Which if both the Utes and Ducks win out could be looking at a playoff spot. Nextweek its season over for the Georgia/Florida loser.

I just dont see the CFP committee putting in 2 teams from the same division. not when they say they value H2H and conference championships. and putting a 1 loss Alabama/LSU who didnt make a championship game in over a conference champion Oregon/Utah or Oklahoma. [Although when it comes to Alabama who knows how many of their own rules the committee would compromise]

After a slow start to the season in blockbuster games there are a heap of playoff changing games in the final 6 weeks

So if your one loss is to LSU or Alabama you’re less deserving than if your one loss is to Kansas State, riiiiiiiight.
The other team played the extra game. Otherwise why even play conference championship games. Just move right to a 8 team playoff and remove all conference championships.

I wouldnt take a 1 loss alabama this year. they havent played anyone worth a damn this year and a home loss to LSU would be against the only good team they play all season. a week 9 loss is easier to recover from than a week 12 loss. Sooners have Iowa St and a road game against Baylor in a 2 weeks. those wins will help them recover.

a lot of it can also depend on how the LSU/Alabama game goes it could be a blow out or a close loss. If LSU lose and dont score at least 25 on that poor Bama D [poor by Alabama standards] adn lose by 2 scores i wouldnt take a 1 loss LSU even with the schedule they played which is 5x better than Alabama. over a 1 loss conference champion like Oklahoma or Oregon. you cant reward teams not good enough to make a conference championship game when the CFP committee say they highly value conference championships

Fair points based on the fact they say they value conference championships, I don’t think they (or anyone for that matter) should value them though. Its only purpose imo is an extra game for someone to pad their resume. You shouldn’t be punished for being in a better division/conference.
