Nothing like Christian Ponder whatsoever. Biggest similarity between the two is their position, skin colour and throwing arm.

Similar to the 40 yard dash, it really depends on how fast you throw a ball in game. Grier would rarely crank it up that high in the pocket, whereas Lock can rip it on gameday.

Makes sense. Just find it hard to digest. Grier has a weak arm. Lock has a big arm. But Grier throws it faster than everybody. What? It's like Grier just throws out of 2nd gear all the time, whereas Lock throws from 4th gear all the time. But when Grier needs to, he can crank it up to a 6th gear. Whereas Lock can only get up one gear higher (to 5th gear). Still can't digest that.

You just never know. How he comes back from this shoulder surgery is anyone’s guess. That said Grier would need to be bloody good to even consider moving on from Cam unless he’s arm falls off.

Interesting about Rosen. NFLN. Miami will be a s**t team in 2019, so will end up at the top of the 2020 draft, and there's a ton of top QBs coming out in 2020. So Rosen could yet again find himself on the outer...with the Dolphins spending a top pick on a franchise QB and Rosen being traded out.
But a lot of analysts and former players are not on Rosen's side. There really does seem to be a stigma around him, that he wants things on a platter. Them saying Caldwell as OC/QB Guru is the best thing for Rosen, so he's gotta go work and win the job over Fitzpatrick. No guarantees. And that Caldwell doesn't suffer fools. So if Rosen isn't up to the task, Caldwell/Flores/Grier will have no qualms drafting a top QB in 2020 and Rosen could be out of work completely.
It's up to Rosen to try to win over the Dolphins brass basically.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing tbh.
Just watching highlight videos it looks like Lock makes throws that Grier just cannot, but according to those figures Grier should be making throws that Lock can't..

One thing throwing it 59mph, pointless if nobody can catch a 59mph ball.
Cam has shown signs of fragility, so you need insurance. It was a smart choice.
Also has Lamar Jackson at only 49mph, but he's definitely got more than that in him.
Interesting that Colt McCoy is recorded at 56 considering he's renowned for his weak arm. Does he really have a bigger arm than Lock?

That's why I can't digest all this. It's really bizarre.
Mind you, just watching Grier and Lock throw at the Combine, Grier did really seem to throw the ball better than Lock in terms of velocity.
But yeah, McCoy and Jackson stats there just don't add up either.

Couldn't take it anymore. Watching NFLN on S4U, which doesn't have a lot of options, can't pick programs inside NFLN, etc, but the stream was constantly cutting out, needing to be reloaded, ugh.
So just paid $11 AUD for an NFL Game Pass subscription that lasts till end of July 2019. Not bad $11 for 10 weeks of viewing. And a stable stream.

I used to put stock in QB throw speed, but the problem is in how and when it is measured.
Because it's done at the Combine but not much is made of it, there isn't really a huge incentive for QBs to throw it as hard as they might in a real game. Add in the fact that its done during one of the WR catching drills with WRs they've probably never thrown to and it actually incentivises QBs with strong arms to not throw it hard.
There is no way Colt McCoy has a stronger arm than Flacco, Mahomes, Lamar Jackson or Deshawn Watson

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini confirms the Jets are shopping LB Darron Lee.
The Jets didn't find any takers for Lee the first two days of the draft. With only two picks on Day 3, they could move Lee to improve their draft capital. Lee became expendable when the Jets signed C.J. Mosley, but he's cheap ($1.8M salary) and coming off his best year as a pro. There should be a late-round market for Lee.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin was arrested for public intoxication and vandalism on Friday in Nashville, Tennessee.
Griffin allegedly punched through a window at a Nashville hotel. It sounds like he may have been reacting to the Texans drafting TE Kahale Warring in the third round. Griffin's legal situation is minor, but this isn't great for his standing with the team.
