Paddy McCartin won’t be popular with a few players around the place with his admission of “bludging” his baseline concussion test and claiming that others have done it.

Reckon he has, quite rightly, a fair penalty coming his way.

Penalty? Yeah.... that’s not happening to someone who likely won’t be able to ever play again. AFL won’t want bad PR like that.

Why would he deserve a penalty anyway? All he was doing was risking further injury to himself, which any player does by playing injured. Will make it harder to claim any future injury payments from the afl maybe...

Fudging his baseline concussion test leaving him more likely to suffer further concussions and to deter other players from doing the same.

Not much different to Willie Rioli cheating his drug test. In fact it would be far easier to get away with and leaves the AFL and club doctors in an unenviable legal position.

In conclusion, he hasn’t ruled out a return to AFL. As a result, a penalty is if anything good PR for the AFL as they will be seen as making an effort to lessen the effects of concussion

What about someone who pretends their hammy is fine, plays and tears it off the bone next game?

He’s going to struggle as it is to have a normal quality of life again, there’s no way he’s copping a penalty for something I’m sure other players try as well. It’s on the medical staff to pick this stuff up.

Very different to someone suffering neurological defects in later life or, God forbid, worse.

There is a worldwide push to lessen the effects of concussion because of the effects on players quality of life in later years. Sporting bodies are trying to protect the players from themselves and the sporting bodies from future legal nightmares.

Dumb thing to do/say.

I spose he can always blame the concussion.

On its face it could be considered fraud.

Will this scandal cost us draft picks?

Theres supposedly a recording of her around, one in which she is speaking to lower level employees very poorly. Not a one off incident, which is what led to the recording being made.
How are you meant to speak to underlings?

One does not speak to underlings. One has them beaten until they learn.
You sound like a couple of bosses I’ve had. Suffice it to say I didn’t have them for long...
