Collingwood will beat GWS, Suns and Melbourne - that gives them 14 wins. They beat Richmond they are top 4. It’s all about the wins.

Could come down to the Pies v Tigers game.

Currently 1 game & lots of percentage behind Collingwood, Brisbane & West Coast... so they need to make up 2 games on at least 1 of these teams.

Imo, they should win 5 out of their last 6 games given they have a great record at the MCG.

Not isolated to Port, but last week Hinkleys a master, their juniors are second to none and the recruiting genius.

Wouldn't it actually say that out player development is very good. He just couldn't be utilised as an inside midfielder as we have better players already on our list. So he was moved on. And has done well at times at 2 different clubs now. He is and has been very inconsistent. If he was actually still here and was in the 22 every week what would be said on here about our midfield being one paced. Look at what is said about our current mix. It would be a lot worse if he was still here.

What does that say about our recognition and development of his talent?

We backed a midfield that’s been failing since 2015

Lyons had 36 possessions against a midfield that annihilated ours.

Yet we could only find a spot on the same HFF that Gallucci occupies.

Our mid development is a joke

He played well for us and played plenty in the midfield, he's only averaging about 2.5 more possessions for the year than the last year he played for us and has played plenty of time forward for the Lions too. Unfortunately we just replaced the problem in getting rid of Lyons because we were too one dimensional in the middle with the exact same problem again with Greenwood and CEY.

Agree, my mistake as I thought Richmond was 9-7 and not 10-6, will probably go 15-7 and top 4 however I’m sure next week will throw up a couple of unexpected results.

You want to describe our midfield as a failure since 2015 but then want to focus on a solitary game from Lyons ?? How many times has he dominated a game this year, or in the past 2 years, or since 2015. He's a one paced inside mid that is very inconsistent and has been moved on by 2 clubs.

Of Lyons 36 Disposals today only 18 were classed as effective.
Season average disposals per game 23.1 of which only 13.6 are classed as effective.

He has bigger deficiencies in his game than all our current starting mids.

This game is likely to cost them finals.

After collapsing last year from a great position & probably blowing another season... not surprising they are melting.

They have only themselves to blame. You can only go so many times to the well for water.

Ken would have built up the Showdown as a Grand Final all week and pushed them hard to win. Their players were probably mentally exhausted and had to play a white hot Lions team. TBH I think any team in the 8 would have torched Port today as well.

Port are on 8 wins and one would think 12 and a decent percentage is the magical number as a minimum to play finals.

Yep, the club is aware of our Apricot Slice Brigade who would go into cardiac arrest if we recruited a Mitch Robinson/Green type.

We only select good "clean" boys.
