now that I've calmed down about the umpiring, one thing I took out of the game was how often both teams had really empty forward 50's. In a crows game it is way rarer to see such openness (at least in our forward line).

Another thing I took out, and its a lesson for the crows, was that when the ball is rushed down the ground to the forward line it comes in a bit chaos ball like and neither defenders nor forwards know exactly where and how the ball will come in. Based on this observation, a problem we have, is that our movement that is very organised is very predictable, which is great for the forwards, the problem is, it is even better for the defenders on our forwards and they are just able to predict where things are going to go and do the chop off. Faster more chaotic ball movement for us and longer range incoming balls will help with this.

Dermie responding to Gerard Whateley's somewhat over the top comments re booing on AFL 360.

'You've just painted it much more than I think actually happened, I don't agree with using those words to describe it.'

Pretty normal behaviour from him, this guy is as tabloid as they come. Never gets called out on it. At least Kane Cornes owns his shock jock persona.

More victorian ferals at the northern end ga at our games than Port. Cause its cheaper.

We always summised that the port ga on the hill was dearer to keep port feral numbers low.

I know a group of magpie faithful who turn up at Alberton religiously, can't afford to go to afl games. Thier from the disabled community.
They're.......are you??

Dylan Shiel was terrible
I thought he was decent at GWS, but every Essendon game I've seen so far this year (probably 3-4 out of 6) he's got a heap of the ball but absolutely butchered it by foot. Not just slightly missing targets either, but missing them so badly it seemed like he was trying to kick it to the opposition.

Not much use in getting the ball so often if you just keep on burning it.

This is one of the major reasons we lost the 17 gf

Yes they are all dramas.

The greatest injustices were Ordinary People winning in 1980 (awarded in 1981) instead of The Elephant Man/Raging Bull, Shakespeare in Love (1998) instead of Saving Private Ryan/Life is Beautiful and American Beauty (1999) instead of The Green Mile/The Insider.

Crash over Brokeback Mountain was diabolically bad, more so for the fact at how bad Crash was (although Brokeback was very good).

All the movies highlighted are better than the Oscar winners. However, I must admit I didn't mind Ordinary People, but better than Raging Bull, not a chance in hell.

I've seen most of them. The only really bad one is The Hurt Locker. Shape of Water is average. Birdman probably my favorite of the bunch
Birdman was very good. Haven’t seen Shape of Water. I liked Hurt Locker

But how Argo got best picture I have no idea. Just an average film with no extended meaning or depth
