So the AFL are now worried about the influence on players of constant booing ... really? So Ablett made the strange decision to like a homophobic tweet, said "whoops, that's not what I meant" and people booed him for it. Pendles gets the boos that are clearly directed at the umps for some absolute howlers. Now, after these SINGLE incidents, we are really really worried about this type of attack could hurt the players.
Where was the swift response when Goodes got continually booed for week after week? I'm sure there are plenty that will come in with the "it was because he played for frees" OR "all great players get this treatment" bulldust but that was not the reality. Goodes wasn't booed in the same way that Duckwood gets booed, or the way Carey was booed.
Anyway - it is funny when the target changes how different the response is. Goodes copped a clearly racist agenda for months... and the general public and media suggested that he was being a snowflake. Ablett and Pendles get some drive-by boos and the AFL will probably come up with a "No Boo" Round.
