NFL 2019 - Off-Season Coaching and GM News

I understand you have something against Rosen and are rooting for him to fail, but having a go at him for losing a QB battle to a 15 year vet in OTA's.... that's an extreme stretch

I understand you love Rosen and the excuse train for him from you will never run dry.

I didn't even post as hater, just reporting what I've heard. If I'm Dolphins fan id prefer to hear Rosen is doing better than what he apparently is right now, that's all. He's got some time to turn itround but the OLine situation isn't much better than it was last year., what if he struggles on field again this year, do his papers get stamped in a hurry? His career could honestly be over before you know it. At least as a starter.

If I'm Dolphins fan
Like me....so how do I feel?
I'm not worried right now. He just barely entered the facility after spending all off-season learning Kingsbury's system before the Murray draft pick.
Now he has to learn this one from scratch....also, takes time to gain chemistry with all the receivers.
Also, often teams put out a player is doing badly to inspire them to lift gears.
I still expect Rosen to eventually supplant Fitzpatrick at most a month into the regular season....Rosen should at worse case scenario have picked up the playbook and gained chemistry enough to be a competent starter for MY dolphins.

I expect him to get a chance regardless at some stage this year, Dolphins need to find out if he's worth persisting with moving forward. Just saying, pressure is on Rosen to perform this year, be that Fair or unfair.

Pressure is always there for every player, regardless of position. The nature of NFL is competition. GMs bring in tons of new RBs, say, even when they already have an incumbent, and the gloves are off, everyone understands the situation and the nature of the beast.
So, the pressure is fair on Rosen, and I don't think WHATSOEVER that he bemoans himself or makes excuses for himself like fans of Rosen would do.
He's a pro, he understands.

He's doing as well as he would be expected to do at this point. As is Fitzpatrick. I don't make excuses for Rosen and never have. Just call it as it is. No QB would have made the playoffs with the Cardinals last year, and he's in another tough situation this year. It's going to take 2-3 years to truly see the patience pay off with team success and individual, and he's worth it

  • CARLOS HYDERB, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde has occasionally lined up with Damien Williams on the field at minicamp.
Not only has he shared the field with Williams at times, Hyde's also been heavily involved as a receiver out of the backfield. "I didn't know they used the running back so much in the passing game until I got here," Hyde emphasized. "It put a smile on my face." Given Andy Reid's historical preference to utilize one back, it's still likely Hyde remains an afterthought unless Williams goes down mid-season.

  • MONTREL MEANDERDB, NEW YORK JETS

Jets claimed CB Montrel Meander off waivers.
A former Browns practice-squader, Meander has ties to Gotham Green DC Gregg Williams stemming from the short time the two spent together in Cleveland. This is the first acquisition on the books for new GM Joe Douglas.

  • NICK CASERIOG, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots have filed tampering charges against the Texans for their attempt to interview/hire Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.
Oh boy. Per Schefter, the league will now "gather relevant informant to open its investigation against Houston." The Texans had requested permission to interview Caserio for their general manager vacancy for the second time in as many years. The Pats denied it in 2018. It was unclear what they intended to do this time around. Now we know. There had been rumors that the Texans pink slipped Brian Gaine with Caserio specifically in mind, and the Pats believe something untoward happened. There was debate about whether the Pats could actually block an interview, though league rules are vague on such front office matters. It would seem to be a promotion for Caserio, but the Pats successfully argued in 2018 that it was a lateral move, It's more "in the family" drama for coach Bill Belichick and one of his ex-assistants. If found guilty, the Texans could lose draft picks and be fined.

Fancy the Patriots complaining about rules being broken :tearsofjoy:
**** me dead you are a bore with your constant whining about the Patriots. Such jealousy, can't accept a team can be so good for so long unless they're cheating or refs helping. Face it, they're the greatest dynasty ever.

These were more crazy parts of SI.com article on Winslow...

Winslow, who was also caught masturbating in the locker room after hours, often "watched pornography and masturbated openly with no regard for who was in the room" on away trips, leaving teammates asking to not share hotel rooms with the former tight end.

...and this to top it all off....

Later on in his career, after being sent to Tampa Bay via trade, Winslow acquired a life-sized silicone mold of a woman’s torso—complete with vagina and anus—to bring with him on road trips, according to one former assistant coach.

Ok

The Houston Chronicle reports the Texans have withdrawn their pursuit of Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.

The Patriots have also dropped tampering charges. Caserio wasn't worth the draft pick compensation it likely would have taken to get a deal done. With Caserio out of the mix, the Texans may play out 2019 without a GM. Houston figures to take another shot at Caserio next offseason.

The Boston Globe believes Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio "wants out" of New England.
Reporter Ben Volin seems to mostly be connecting the obvious dots, which is that the Pats had to invoke a clause in Caserio's contract and file tampering charges to prevent him from interviewing with the Texans. Per Volin, "every sign points to Caserio landing with the Texans next offseason." Caserio's Patriots contract runs through next spring's draft. Ever the iconoclast, Bill Belichick appears perfectly content to force Caserio to "play out" his deal.
