I agree .....this is similar thinking to me ....however I'll look at the rest of the team, what value picks there are, and good available rookies, b4 making the call on Grundy / Gawn

It's common sense, but what i'm saying is ...Gawn / Grundy won't be my first picked .....they'll be my last decision
Problem is they almost need to be your first decision due to their pricetags

It's a long way off .....but i think i'll have 1 premo ruck, 4 premo mids ......then see what i have left B4 deciding on that 2nd Premo ruck .........:p it'll probably get to version 1,875

Are you still on version 1,875

Will you be starting with the 4 highest priced mids or will you still look for value with your M3 & M4?

I ask this because starting with both Cripps(537k) & Cogs(452k) as M4-5 this year turned out to be 2 of the most critical selections/non-selections. Looking back to Rd1 this season I only started with 2 players priced over 600k in my entire squad. My M1 & M2 (Titch & Dusty) Titch ended up being worth every cent, Dusty in the end was 100k over priced based on his eventual 103-104 average. I'll probably end up starting only 1 or 2 top priced mids again next year. Probably Titch & Cripps, then look for value from my M3-5. I'll probably start both Grundy & Gawn set and forget rucks which means looking for value elsewhere, otherwise you end up relying on too many rookie starters on other lines. It ended up working out well this year with a light Def, but those who went with a light forward line (2-3 fwd rookie starters) or only 4 mid premo's were left behind very early on.

No, i agree ....as per the Dangerfield situation, I don't see the value in starting the 4 highest priced mids ....agree, 2 best mids & 2 value picks ....Cogs & Cripps were great picks & i regretted going O'Meara over Cogs

Think we still need to see new player positions....will Danger be a mid/fwd ? .......Greene will be great value

I think we'll be screwed out of Danger being a forward. Greene will be in 60% of teams.

Possibly. But for SC relevance you’d want him to be a number 1 ruck somewhere. Not sharing with Goldy

If he's predominately forward & ruck relief only like Cox was with Grundy this year, Preuss is a no go for me. Can't see North trading him out to another club either with Goldy being 32 next year in possibly his last season. If Goldy has to "share" ruck duties, then he becomes a liability to North.

I wonder if something like this would fit under the cap? Ideally I'd like 1 more mid-pricer in the midfield or forward line, but more likely Gus will need to become a really cheap M5 like Libba/Hanners/Rocky

Laird, Docherty, ZWilliams, Witherden, rookie, rookie (rookie, rookie)
Titch, Cripps, Dusty, MCrouch, Gus Brayshaw, rookie, rookie, rookie (rookie, rookie, rookie)
Grundy, Gawn (r/f rookie)
Danger*, Dunkley, Greene, Lobb(if r/f) rookie, rookie (rookie, rookie)

Preuss was $347K this year .....would you expect him to be priced around $280K next year ?

I think they’d be crazy to move him on as well. I’m surprised a lot of Nth fans are open to the idea TBH. Nth might see Goldy rucking for another 2+ years. GWS need a ruck and have a surplus of mids that North need. Will be interesting

Freako saying that ZWilliams playing this week will affect his 2019 starting price, I thought players had to play at least 2 games but I guess that's wrong.

Annoying, if he goes well he won't be near as cheap as some were hoping, and even more annoying that I was already banking on not picking him as an Anti-POD

Thought so, too. Polson played 1 in 2017 and went from 117 to 130k, maybe that was average based (34) with discount of 30%, but Kirby only played 1, too, I think, and his price was the same both years, I think(?)
Fiorini definitely got based on average with discount of two games one year, was dead as a cow as a result.
It all falls under the category ‘special sauce’, I guess.

Some players I picked this year (some worked, some didn't) would any of you consider:

Touk Miller
Luke Shuey
Jordan De Goey (IMO 100% lock up forward next year)
Harris Andrews (had him rounds 1-5 then traded him, sad reacts only)
The Bont
Christian Petracca (stayed in all year, was a rollercoaster of scoring. Some 130's, some 50's)
Dane Zorko (traded him in dirt cheap right before he went 170 odd and was gold ever since)
Dylan Roberton (year massive flop)

De Goey yes as a FWD but I’d want more midfield time like the Dees game.
The Bont if fit maybe.
No to the rest

Tuk Tuk worth a close look but only if they stop using him as a tagger. Has scored really well when playing as a ball winning mid. JDG will be in a LOT of sides next year.
Bont worth a look if he's a DPP. No if just a mid.

Zorko will be good value priced at 97ppg (around 530-540k) due to his poor start to the season.

2016: 109
2017: 111
2018: 110 (from Rd7 onwards)

It's between him and Gus Brayshaw for M5 for me. If Brissy can manage to recruit another gun mid in the off-season to attract the hard tag, it'll tip the scale in Zorko's favour.
