This is just going by what players averaged per game last year and their starting prices this year. Obviously SuperCoach will change the pricing of players a bit, but surely not too drastically.
This is just a bit of estimation and messing around to see how much players would cost based on averages and prices.

Pattern:
Every 18 points average difference = ~100k price difference.
Every 5 points = ~28k
Every 2.5 points = ~14k
Every 1 point = ~5k

2017 Ave - 2018 starting price:
136 - 750k
118.4 - 650k
114.7 - 630k
111 - 610k
110 - 605k
109 - 599k
107.5 - 591k
105 - 577k
102.5 - 564k
101.5 - 558k
100 - 550k
97.5 - 535k
95 - 522k
92.5 - 508k
90 - 494k
87.5 - 481k
85 - 467k
82.5 - 454k
80 - 440k

Ex. Tom Mitchell's average is 132.4, so using above data, he will be about ~728k.

So with this, just get the average of a player this year and find the matching price on the list (use the pattern if the players average isn't exactly there), and make a team:

DEF:
Laird/Lloyd (600k) - Docherty (535k) - Williams(438k) - Rookie (120k)
Mid$$$/$$$Rookie (~220k) - Rookie (120k) - Rookie (120k) - Rookie (120k)

MID:

Cripps (665k) - Jelly (653k) -Rookie (120k)
Fyfe (644k) - Oliver (632k) - Zorko (550k) - Rookie (120k)
$$$Rookie (~180k) - Rookie (120k) - Rookie (120k) - Rookie (102k)

RUCK:
Grundy (707k) - Gawn (700k) - Oloophole (102k)

FWD:

Danger (645k) - Dusty (565k) - Tom Lynch (425k) - Rookie (120k)
$$$Rookie (180k) - Rookie (120k) - Rookie (120k) - Rookie (120k)

Leaves me with ~40k left over.

Note:
- For Doch and Williams, I gave them a 15% discount, could be more/less though.
- For Rookies, 120k is between 123 and 117k.
- $$$Rookie = Premium Rookie (150-220k).
- Mid$$$ = Mid-Priced Player (200-300k).
- Obviously Titch would be my main/first priority.
- If Dusty and/or Danger don't have FWD status; Dusty replaced with Heeney, Danger -> TMac. Then Zorko -> Dusty or Danger.

Again, this is just estimated prices, they will most likely change, but its something to use while we wait.

Dusty wont be a forward.

Danger maybe.

The prices seem spot on though.

Add another 650k plus player in Jelly now.

Starting team next year.

Laird Lloyd Whitfield Doc

Titch Cripps Jelly Oliver Fyfe

Gawn Grundy

Danger

Everyone else is wait n see

Agree that Danger might be a fwd, but dusty won't.
I'm actually hoping they are both just mids.

That could be part of the fun every season though. Looking at super unimpressive premiums who are just stumbling to the finish line then taking the risk on them the next season.

I hear you, but..

Robbie Gray: season ave 99.3 - current price $429,800
Dunkley: season ave 89.3 - current price $501,600

Prices would be all messed up where mid pricers who finished strongly would be irrelevant the following year and everyone would just start with the top 6 averaging forwards who all conveniently ended up priced at sub 450k by the end of the year. Kind of the opposite of what you want.

If prices are reflective of season average, we would look at someone like Dunkley priced just below premo price as a break out contender priced at 480k for Rd1 much like Walters and McLean at the start of this season and take a punt on him being a top 6 forward based on his strong back end of 2018.

Will probably build a team around Kelly, Cripps, Oliver, Grundy - might even carryover a trade or two from this season

Going to try and aim for this team.

Might have to go skinny up forward but I don't give a f@rk.

I want the back, mids and rucks at all costs so forwards can be all cheapies and rookies for all I care! :rainbow:

B - Laird Lloyd Whitfield Docherty

M - Mitchell Cripps J.Kelly Oliver Fyfe Macrae

R - Gawn Grundy (R/F)

F - Dangerield, Gray Dunkley R/F

You realise you've used around 4.1+ million on those 6 mids & 1.4 mill on your rucks. Roughly 50% of your salary cap on 7 players + 5+ million for those 7 defs & fwds. The other 15 players would all have to be 102k rooks to fit under the cap

I have a few 'always' selections. Bont being one of them. But I don't think i'll start with him next season. Just feel like there may be better value options to start with. Missed the boat on Cogs because of my blind love for the Bont. Things could change with some duel position status though...

B: Laird, Sicily, Doc, Whitfield (hopefully)
M: Titch, Oliver, Danger... dunno who else yet
R: Gawn and Grundy
F: Gray, Greshem, Ziebell (hopefully), Bont (hopefully)

Those listed as 'hopefully' are players who I feel should get duel position status. Should they then i'd love to take them on. Ziebs is a risky one, but barely anyone will roll with him and I usually like to take a punt on a legit POD at the start of every season. Likewise Gresh, although my early prediction is that he becomes very Supercoach relevant by the end of next season.

I like how you don't have Lloooyd. I have no intention of starting the KOTD seagull either. Hopefully Sydney change their game style next year and he does a Hibbo.

Haha, so for two years running now I have waited on Lloyd and brought him right before his price started going up. Always going to be a solid upgrade target if his form remains.
I also can't dislike the guy. Probably the closest in the AFL to the type of player I am. Yep, i'm a country footy seagulling campaigner.

Lloyd will definitely be a top 6 defender next year.
