Neither Yeo or Brayshaw will be given DEF status next season. They'll be MID only.

That said, Yeo will seriously need to still be considered. Would have finished as 7th highest scoring Midfielder this season.
Im locking that campaigner in.
I always thought he wouldn't make it as a pure mid. Then Sam Mitchell happened.

Now its happy days. He will be a top10 mid for the next 5 years.

My team will be midpricers/breakout players only.

No Premos.

By the end of next season they’ll all be Premos though.

Who needs Oliver when you’ve got Brayshaw?
Who needs J. Kelly when you’ve got Hopper?
Who needs Z. Merrett when you’ve got Langford?
Who needs Dangerfield when you’ve got Parfitt?
Who needs Cripps when you’ve got Dow?
Who needs T. Mitchell when you’ve got O’Meara?
Who needs Macrae when you’ve got Dunkley?
Who needs Fyfe when you’ve got Neal- oh wait...

Neale at the Lions, Shiel at Saints, T. Kelly at Freo, Hannebery at Saints, so many juicy options.

You kents are f***ed.

Hanners is an absolute lock if he gets through preseason injury free. Will be dirt cheap :thumbsu:

Must feel bad about finally getting an opportunity then ditching the club.

Thank though guys :moustache:

Haha we tried our best, reckon Kelly is fine at Geelong it’s just his wife unfortunately with the 3 kids and I think all their family still in WA would be tough.

We should still get a pick in the top 10-15 I’m hoping in which case it’s kind of a win considering we got him with Pick 24 last year aha, guess it depends who we would’ve picked last year at that pick if Kelly wasn’t available, also depends who we pick this year with the pick that we get for him.

Still picking Yeo next season even if he’s MID only.

Yep Yeo lock.

Kelly we have pick 20 as Gaff compo but he might stay. So much still to play out.
Pretty sure he doesn't want to be at Freo. Who does? Didn't realise he had 3 rug rats already. Had to make the move to Geelong though.
I reckon we were gonna take him a few picks later but you guys nabbed him.
Probably shouldn't had as you didn't need midfielders and he was always going to want to go back home

Yep would definitely prefer West Coast over Freo. But if he just wants to be back in WA then Freo could offer us more, depends if he specifically asks for West Coast only in a trade.

I think we’d want something around pick 10-15 or better, considering we got him with Pick 24 and he’s established that he can make it at the senior level. Perhaps Kelly for your 1st Round Pick next year? You guys would back yourselves in to finish Top4 again, meaning that pick would be around 14-18 depending on where you finish, I think that’s quite reasonable for Kelly.

True in hindsight we probably should’ve looked at a very good small forward around that Pick 24 mark instead. We backed ourselves in and our development team in to help settle him in and stay but just don’t think it was enough unfortunately, think he brought a different look to the midfield though compared to the usual crash and bash from Dangerwood, Kelly lowers his eyes more which was a nice change to see.

Think it’ll be a win/win IF we get a pick around that 10-15 range for him. We can use it along with our current first round pick on a couple of really talented players this draft. Plus someone like Duncan who was pushed out of the midfield a bit by Kelly/Ablett will get more midfield time again, along with Narkle / Parfitt / Fogarty being given a bit more responsibility which will be good to see.

If Gaff does leave Kelly will be a good replacement on a wing for you guys (not at Gaff’s level of course but still a great level).

Thats the plan.

Next years years first would get it done. If Gaff doesn't leave it makes things hard. If Kelly goes to Freo Ill consider Duncan for SC. Maybe even Parfitt if he stays a FWD

True but if Gaff doesn’t leave it’s a great problem for you guys to have aha!

True I’m intrigued as to what we’re going to do to the midfield next year. I expect Danger to play full time mid after being forward a lot this season, I’m hoping we change our gamestyle to a more modern style of just pressuring the f*** out of teams so I’m hoping for a forward line of Hawkins, Ratugolea and then 4 smaller pressure players (like a Dahlhaus for e.g) so there’s no medium target there like a Dangerfield or Menzel (who I assume will leave).

The main change I think will be GAJ who I’m expecting to play more behind the ball in a Hodge sort of way (or Lloyd seagull sort of way :moustache: ), plus Kelly I’m assuming gone. Allows Duncan more midfield time, plus we need to see how Narkle / Parfitt / Fogarty go in there too because they are natural midfielders who we have been playing out of position.

I’m the same as you if Parfitt’s a FWD I’ll be seriously considering him as he’s the main one I expect to get more midfield time. Guys like Narkle, Fogarty, Constable (Get on him Midfield rookie) should be given bursts in there to see how they go, but Parfitt could become a full time mid next season. Parfitt did get a 104, 168, 102, 119 and 117 when playing more midfield this season so he can do it.
