Jack Redden next year kents.

31 touches, 13 marks, 8 tackles and a goal in a Prelim final (158 Fantasy points).

Whether Gaff leaves or not, whether Kelly goes there this year or not, Redden won’t be leaving that full time mid position for a long time.
I started that campaigner this year and pussied out round 3 and traded him

Burnt me hard

Redden: SC (H&A) season average 96. (His first five rounds were awful) but has averaged 110 in the 19 games from Rd6 onwards (including 2 finals)

Very similar to Tayah Adams season - 96 ave (110 average from rd11) but with a higher ceiling. (154x2 & 147) those extra tackle points...

Walsh- to start or not to start? Rayner didn't really make sufficient cash early on but lots of talk saying walsh will 'make an immediate impact'. Are expensive rookies a no go or will walsh immediately boost carltons (not a big assumption) mid stocks and make us big cash?

Reckon along with Cripps, Carlton will be giving that midfield time to M. Kennedy, Dow & Petrevski-Seton, then Walsh. So he’ll play midfield just not enough for me.

2019 Team

Def: Whitfield, Docherty, Williams, Birchall

RUCK: Grundy, Gawn

Mid: Titch, Macrae, Cripps, Taylor Adams, Redden

FWD: Danger, Dunkley, Harmes, Milera, Lynch

Doesn't seem like Williams is impacting Whitfield with back to back 130+ scores in finals, Docherty and Williams too cheap to ignore and should average enough to be keepers. Birchall is an injury risk but at 200k and having averaged 80+ for like 9 straight years ill be taking that risk, it was either him or daniher.

Grundy and Gawn LOCK. probably gonna use R3 as a loophole like every other year, preuss enticing if somewhere like saints but 240k is expensive especially as my team is just fitting into the 10 mill as it is.

Titch, Macrae and Cripps my big 3 for next year, hopefully it goes better than the big 3 of Dusty, Danger, Titch of 2018. Redden and Adams are my two 'speculative' mid picks who i think will break out next year. Both had a great end to the year and are climbing the mid ranks at their respective clubs.

Danger is a must start if forward eligible, if not i will go for a cheaper premo, grab Daniher and rock no fwd rookies on field. Dunkley, harmes and milera had great ends to the year with dunkley establishing his place in the doggies midfield, harmes developing into a great tagger and milera roaming around the half back line (hopefully he is still fwd eligible). Lynch could be any of Kennedy, Billings, Greene, Himmelberg, Lobb but at Richmond i think Lynch will explode, forgot the exact stat but his scoring average in wins is very high and at the tigers you'd think that that would be the case more often than not.

So that is my 2019 team as of right now with not much to change i reckon, just have to think about rookies, thoughts?

Lets just hope this stupid pre-draft mature agers concessions to Carlton and GC don't happen. Not only does it stuff over clubs who have put in resources scouting these blokes but more importantly it will give CD an excuse to slug our sweet, sweet mature aged stud rookies with 200k price tags.

The guy in your avi is an M1 lock once he goes to Freo.

Only look at the high-priced first-year rookies if there aren't enough rookie-priced mature agers and lower-priced first-year rooks, I reckon.
There 'll be the occasional one who justifies the higher price tag, but I'd take the other side of that bet.
Same ceiling, higher starting price.

Walsh is quite small. 183cm & 74kgs even smaller than Dow was when he first drafted (185cm & 78kgs) I don't expect him to make any more of an impact than Dow did this year or to get as much mid time as Dow did. Reckon he will start off playing as a small forward like Higgo/Spargo/LFog did this year, maybe even as a small lock down defender. Couldn't possibly play all 4 of Walsh, Dow, Fisher & SPS in the same midfield at this stage of their physical development. No more than 2 at a time in the mids next year with Walsh least likely. 55-60 average for mine.

IF it happens, it wouldn’t change much for me in terms of Richmond players in my side. But any midfield time he would’ve gotten might be given to someone like Darcy Fogarty instead so he can play in his best position.
