Did Aaron Francis miss multiple games with injury last year or was he just playing VFL? 5 snr games @ 80average would be appealing if priced at 60-70ppg

Had the early part of the pre-season off with depression, no real soft tissue injuries this year from memory. Then they let him come back in his own time to training then VFL, was in good form for a month or more prior to getting a game in the AFL. Looks pretty fit commencing pre-season.

I think he's probably too awkwardly priced for a genuine cash cow, and won't average high enough to justify spending more. My big question marks would be his ability to run out games and durability still. No lack of talent however and seems to read the ball well in the air so with Hurley and Hooker he should be able to play loose to pick up the intercept marks.

Did Dayne Beams missing any footy with depression or do we think he's just playing the depression card to get back to Melbourne?

His old man passed away so I'd be inclined to believe there was some very real issues for him. I think if the trade didn't get done he'd have played another year for Brisbane no problems though, didn't strike me as a situation where Beams was trying to screw Brisbane.

KK averaged 67 last year. Apparently slated for a wing position at Melbourne. Averaged 89 in his second season. I’ve read on twitter from Brice Mitchell his price could be around 368k. Makes him very un pickable. Unless pre season form is excellent. A role on the wing could make things interesting. I wasn’t thinking he’d be a lock but we’ll be replacing Tyson who was on a wing late in the season.

Maybe a good late draft pick but no chance if that’s his price.

368k for a defender who could average 90 appeals to me

Blakely will be a defender RE Freako's twitter.

:padlock::padlock::padlock:

Also, Lloyd Meek will be a R/F, plays for Freo so will be a decent loophole option with so many Sunday games / being locked out at the same time as Fyfe.

Lloyd, Laird, Docherty, Blakely
Lock that away right now

I dunno about paying 600k for some defenders.
I wasn't keen on Williams but seeing how strongly he returned last year I think I'll be going with the Docherty/Williams/Blakely trio.

And that's coming from a Laird loving nuffy.

Yeah once we actually have a salary cap to worry about I'm sure Lloyd > Williams will look pretty tasty, but it's a pretty picture for now

I can't believe I'd forgotten about Birchall!

Was 277k this year and didn't make it back onto the park, wonder how they'll price him next year.

With Burton being shipped off to SA he'll be slipping back into his old position seemlessly.

Can definitely see myself starting with Docherty, Blakely, Williams, Birchall and Hanely hoping that they all fire early, with the last two being stepping stones.

Like Hanley, he's old but has had a better injury history before the last two years being a total write off.

He's also my favourite Hawks player so that helps.

I know we all try our luck with DPP, but not sure how Bont can’t be a forward next year.

As someone who had him in sc and is a dogs supporter he spent almost all year parked at full forward..

Bont & Danger both SHOULD be MID/FWD.

Will CD do it though? Probably not. Kents.

Really interested in Jarrod Berry as an M5 breakout-type player but just worried with Neale coming in the midfield (replacing Beams) alongside Zorko if they keep rotating that third inside midfielder like Berry with a McCluggage & Rayner etc so Berry wont get enough midfield time consistently.

I'd prefer Bont over Danger if they were only picking one; Danger is just a gimme that everyone will have, Bont at least has 'some' risk attached.

Don't forget they've also added Lyons that should play as an inside mid with Neale + Zorko as their main three clearance players.
