What rookies are people liking before the preseason games? Setterfield and the Saints/GC boys seem like likely types.
Walsh scored well this year. However will be a high price to pay. Off the top of my head I think Stocker and Dursma could be good scorers.

This is almost like the 2011 season again when Gold Coast first joined the league and we had 40 juicy rookies to choose from.

I guess being a basket case club has it's benefits, you get to help out the SC community at least :moustache:

Agree. I won’t be selecting him. But adds to my no Lobb argument. If we can’t trust Hogan this year. Then I wouldn’t be picking another docker key forward.
Agree....certainly in a side that is rebuilding

The two best Geelong rookies (imo) will be Constable ($117K/$123K MID) and Fort ($117K/$123K RUC).

Constable would’ve debuted last season if not for a minor hammy injury, plus we’ve been talking about the youngsters needing to step up in the team & midfield so hopefully that means they’re going to give Constable a good chance.

Fort being a mature age ruckman helps a lot. If the club decides that we care more about the Ruck winning the centre hitouts to advantage & clearances (which we should) over what the Ruck does around the ground then I reckon Fort could actually be our No.1 Ruck starting next year because he’ll win hitouts more than Stanley / Smith / Abbott in the centre.

Tarca I reckon will play quite a few senior games next season it’s just that he’s a small forward I’m not sure how many points he’s going to get, might not be enough.

I expect Kennerley & Jarvis to spend most, if not all, of next season in the VFL.

Atkins is interesting because he’s a mature age pick but I don’t think there’s room for him in the seniors. He’s an inside midfielder and we’ve already got quite a few + I’d rather we give midfield time to Parfitt / Narkle / Constable.

No one will hear you from your position of 125698th

Now, cmon children ...the season hasn't even officially started yet :p

Only thing I'll say re Fort is that he's been under the nose of the Sth Australian teams all year ....the Crows were desperate for another Ruckman, and we ended up taking Kieran as a rookie, even though he struggled to get VFL games

My point being ...we had the pick B4 Geelong who took Fort ....and we didn't take him ...why?

Because your recruiters play SuperCoach and knew that Fort would get more of a go in the No.1 Ruck role at Geelong compared to being at Adelaide behind Sauce Jacobs :)

Well he did kick a goal. Clearly where he starts on the field isn't relevant!

Al Paton just said it was a typo.
Def only, as he should be.
I'll be watching him for draft.

Hogan not going to be full training for a little while yet either, no guarantee to start round 1.

Also I'm not sure Ross will give him the mid time he got this year.

Freo forwards are a big no from me this year, way too unpredictable unless a cheap rookie looks likely.

Yeah I’d be staying away from Hogan next year.
