Not really sure what Dew thinks of Miles,
My concern is that he is basically the same player as Brodie, Miller & Swallow.

The reason Jarryd Lyons & Brodie earlier in the year were out of favour was bad defensive running habits/abilities.
If Miles has that aspect to his game he is certainly a better shot of getting picked. - I haven't watched enough of him at Richmond to really know.

I would say locks for our midfield group are Swallow, Miller, Fiorini & Bowes with a yet to be determined amount of time for Jack Martin. They are keen to get Ainsworth and Weller up on the wings as well.

Brodie & Miles would be in the mix think but could see one of them not getting picked.
Miles was the last player picked in my 'best 22' - I'd play Brodie ahead of him if I was the coach.
Miles won't have any issues around his work rate but he is very one dimensional and can't play anywhere besides midfield which could be his downfall again. If he plays I'd expect him to average around 95 but looking at some of your other midfielders it might be harder for him to get a game than I thought

Bowes does have potential, but nominating him as your starting Centre with Miles last on the bench is straight out of the Stuart Dew school of treating your best inside players like shit. Poor Miles, has no idea that he's going to be treated even worse than Barlow and Lyons were.

Hate to break it to you but Miles is not going to be a key part of the team by the time we are pushing the top 8 over the next few years (hopefully) - 27 in a few weeks is still young enough to be important for a few years but he and GHS haven't been bought to the club to help us win one more game this year, they've been bought to bring some elite club culture. Happy for Miles to be in the team for now but want to be giving reps to our young guys with support from some of these mature recruits.

Bowes looked seriously good the last 3 games of the year and adds some class which we need.
Don't want to see him playing in the backline again this year.

Maybe I set the team up wrong. I'd definitely have Miles in the centre at the starting bounce, but I'd want Bowes to be in there just as much as Miles over the course of the game.

Barlow was slower than Stewart Dew himself - basically unplayable. Havant seen anyone scrambling to get him.
Lyons - had his clear strengths but obviously foibles as well which ultimately were very important to the coaching staff.

He will be one of your all time greats.

Thoughts on Miles avg?

Will Dew play him?

Dew wanted him from day 1.
As for SC relevance....
Averaged 98 over 34 games in 2014-15 including top 5 finish in their B&F in a finals year.
2014 - 12 out of 13 games scored over 84 (ave 99)
2015 - 18 of his games over 87, (ave 98)
2016 - 8 tons & averaged 90.
Forget the past 2 seasons as he's struggled to get a game in a very good side. Even his one game last year got him 90.

He'll play every game and unlike Libba isn't coming off a 2nd reco.
Very bullish about him this year. $342K for what I see as a 90+ return.

Apart from Wines injury, all but guarantering Robbie Grays move to the midfield ......it "could" see finally the introduction of William Drew in his 3rd season ....a big (190cm) inside mid with DPP

Now firmly on the watch list

With the new 6 x 6 x 6 structures ......the word is the Tap Ruckman will even more important this year & now able to grab the ball from ball ups .....but will the "clearance" specialists become even more important, given you can't load the back of the square with players
