Not a fan of this new look at all... The whole white screen thing is too bland and the field is too 'busy' and just looks dull all around. I think we'll all live, but this is a severe downgrade from last year. Looks like they hired an I.T. guy and just went 'hey, choose the basic theme, that'll do.' The inability to take a decent screenshot because of the larger field is a bit frustrating too. Didn't feel this way last year, despite a few gripes. Ah well.

Also, upon further inspection...What in the actual f*ck is with those Telstra logos? How obnoxious can you get??
migraine inducing stuff...who the hell designs this crap?

migraine inducing stuff...who the hell designs this crap?

It all started with the insistence of putting the players faces into the design, rather than keeping it clean and simple using the team's guernsey, like most other fantasy platforms do. The top down design from there severely limits what they can do, and they have not got it right yet.

That said, I prefer this years to last. 2018 was deplorable.

Anyway, here's my first crack (with only a partial screenshot because super formatting by the new layout):

yeah i like the team, i think the rookies may need to be swapped and changed depending on selections, but i really like the team!

Ok lets do it this way. My build rule is only pay full price for your captain (if you feel you must, I didnt. I am using Cripps)

FULL PRICE LIST (all my opinion): D Smith, T Kelly, Grundy, Witts, Yeo and Laird

Thats 6 spots i feel wont be gaining you any team value. Since you like Dangerfield as your captain, I would maybe move on from all 6 of them or MAYBE keep Grundy as sort of a switch-hitting captain when the matchup dictates. No problem with the actual players on that list (I like them all), I just feel maybe you could find some value PREMIUM picks and dump some of the mid pricers (keep Z Williams and Hannebery) like Fisher, Walsh, Thomas, Quaynor and you could add like 2 more NICE premium value players with the savings. Then you can watch those cheaper premiums grow into the same you would have originally paid for others and you will have even more cap to spend on fewer spots. Thats how i tackle it. I'm not into the whole mid-pricers thing, and i'm not totally into players Stars and Scrubs either. I think theres a middle ground

My first crack at it. The two I'm 50/50 on at the moment is Blakely and Heeney, but could well enough keep them both. but a long way till Round One yet....

I quite like this team. Dont mind the Grundy pick here because he is your captain (i punted on rucks personally, that's why i say that)

My only nitpicks would be D Smith. I understand why you want him, but i feel he's full price. Dont pay full price. Ross is kinda in the same boat I think, though i think he might still have a little upside, so i don't mind the pick much. The only other one i might move on from as far as paying full price is S Martin

I am down with the defense. Its almost what i have (I have Hurn instead of Lloyd). Nothing wrong at all with a Lloyd pick. It was just about a coin flip for me, value wise. If i end up at a coin flip, i usually take the cheaper player

Oh and another super nitpick, switch your V to Cripps or Kelly. You will have some nice pinch hitting options for Captain week to week, though it will mostly end up being Grundy

How are people getting the cool screen caps. Im on internet with android csn only see the list view not field view?
It's not mobile friendly (too big) so you can't view it on mobile the same way. Most screen caps are taken via PC or Mac at the moment (from what I can see). If you zoom in even 120% on a computer, it changes to the list view. Another design flaw IMO.

Im hopefuly of an unlikely situatuion where a few of the pricier defender rookies arent named round 1 ie J.Clark, S.Collins ect

This will mean i go heavier in the backs and weaker in the forwards. Ie still 3 premo fwds, Then 5 rookies if enough are selected ie Rozee and Setterfield at F4 and F5

That allows for me to get Birchall at D5

Looks like they've made some amendments overnight. Subtle but looks a lot better. Alternating grey and white for the player list and and a darker grey for the panels so you can tell things apart. Slight adjustments, but a much smoother look. Still shoddy in terms of inability to 'drag and drop'/swap and all the other previously mentioned issues.

On another actual game related note, what are people's thoughts on Corey Ellis? Priced at a ridiculously low price of 261K and coming to a new team as a mature age player. Worth a look or won't break in?

Would be genuinely surprised if he is there by round 10. He has quite a few to surpass
A lot of the sun cheapies, are pretty well touch and go in that note. Corbett most likely to be there, closely followed by Collins, with others such as Burgess, Wigg not looking at all likely barring something significant

What's Fisher's price? I love the Fish call, will be a breakout year but i'm worried I'll have too many Carlton players as it is.

Draft 2 (1K remaining). A bit more consideration placed on rooks and ruck setup this time around. With slight changes made to both. Goddard, Constable and Corbett all place-holders 'til JLT starts. Adams could go to B. Crouch if he shows something/doesn't get injured up until Round 1.

Feel this is much more balanced and could possibly be the line-up I go in with (who am I kidding?).

Honestly don't know why so many are going with Hanners.

This year's JOM in my eyes. Could get injured, but clearly best 22. If he stays on the park, then the price justifies the pick. Capable of 110+, but should easily get his price of 65 or so. Can understand why people wouldn't though. He is past it and he's not going to re-create his performance from years past. A bit of a gamble, but having a player of his calibre switch teams and be priced as a low-range mid-pricer, is too hard to pass up IMO.

Will get injured, and when on the park will not score well. Coming from a Swans supporter who waited all of last season for the point to jump on.

Somewhat agree with this. Handball happy and doesn't tackle like he used to - although that could be a byproduct of the fact he isn't playing in the guts anymore

Pretty much this. I think people are forgetting how bad his injuries have been.

Isn't he currently injured too? I get nervous picking up players who have interrupted pre-seasons.
The other thing is it's not like the Saints have been screaming out for an inside type 30+ touch player. They have Stevens, Ross, Steele etc who bob up getting touches in the middle already.

Dan wont be the number one man.
