Which teams/players have you settled on as taggers for those figures?
Be interested to see you list each team, your expected tagger or if not tagger
As per previous post. Was looking for suggestions but I'm thinking these guys:

"Trying to remember who all the taggers (or potential taggers) are.

Anyone got any to add to Robertson, Curnow (maybe) or Bugg, Banfield, Touk Miller (maybe), D Howe, Jacobs, Hewett and Hutchings.

I think L Greenwood's finished. Maybe S Selwood, the same. Harmes did a bit of it; so did J Steele.

Wouldn't be surprised if my team tries something; maybe M Weller, although perhaps Graham or McIntosh could do it. And of course for the Bulldogs, Libba has done at times it in the past."

As to your question Tex Danger: ie. Adelaide: D Howe, Hewett, -, Jacobs, Touk, Steele, Banfield, -, Robertson, Hutchings.

I actually think Steele is too good to be a tagger but he does seem to get the job quite often.

Anyone concerned by Matt Crouchs avg with Sloane in the side. I might have to pay a little more attention to that especially with Brad Crouch returning to the fold. Half a year from Sloane and a full year from B.Crouch was missed. Greenwoods now a developed midfielder aswell.

I might have to look a little more into sloanes affect on M.Crouch.

Was his injured 33 involved in that?

Ive been well off Hanners but im now prettt keen again but ill only pick at M6 and with the new percieved value in defenders it will be hard to fit in.

Edit an 80 in a preseason game going at about 75 ppm100 mins will tick the box for round 1

Ill be keen to go Grundy and then cheap in rucks after that if it will allow. Ie Zac clarke, Fort, Sweet, Flynn type players if 1 plays round 1 it will tempt me

Sloane played r2 which was Matt’s injury game

He played:
R1-4 - Matt went 123,33, then missed
R15-22 - Matt went 94, 106, then all scores above 117.

Matt’s lower scores were when Sloane was out. Definitely seems to have benefitted from Sloane’s presence.

2017 Rd 23, QF, PF, GF
M Crouch 150, 115, 122, 124
B Crouch 133, 124, 133, 106
Sloane 149, - , 76, 97

Only a small sample, but is pointy end of the season. Seemingly no affect on the Crouch boys

I think Crouch is the purest ball winner out of any of those so I'd suggest they'd struggle more with him in the side than the opposite.

I think I did this last year, but happy to do it again for anyone who needs it :)

Adelaide: Riley Knight
Brisbane: Jarrod Berry
Carlton: Ed Curnow
Collingwood: Levi Greenwood (only when Joel Selwood plays, haha), Taylor Adams (when needed, more run with)
Essendon: None (Dev Smith when needed, but only run with)
Fremantle: Banfield (not so much, as his tagging scaled back towards the end of the year)
Geelong: Scooter (will still tag from time to time, but could play the defensive forward role a lot more this year), Cam Guthrie (against quicker types)
Gold Coast: Touk Miller
GWS: None
Hawthorn: Daniel Howe (but not that often)
Melbourne: James Harmes (will do it a lot more this year imo, as it allows him to stay in the side with a specified role and he did it well when he did)
North Melbourne: Ben Jacobs
Port Adelaide: None
Richmond: None (Dion Prestia or Jack Graham when needed, but not their style)
St Kilda: Jack Steele (more run with, only lock down with special cases as not their style)
Sydney: George Hewett (tied with Jacobs as the best tagger in the game right now)
West Coast: Mark Hutchings, Elliot Yeo (when needed, but rare)
Western Bulldogs: None (Tom Liberatore when fit, but no designated tagger besides stints by Lin Jong when fit)

Feel free to add to that list, as I'm sure there's more. IMO, the main one's to watch out for will be:

Harmes (Demons)
Jacobs (North)
Hewett (Sydney)
Hutchings (Eagles)
Berry (Lions)

Happy reading, haha!

How do we get last year's ranking on the new website??
I havent looked yet but there should be a history tab somewhere.

I'm keen to join a bigfooty league this season. I didnt last year and I missed out on the quality input from this place.

Last year I felt the community was pretty small. It already feels a bit bigger this year. If not bigger at least more vocal.

Keen to be a part.

Without checking myself, look at the back end of 2017. Im sure Crouch went big while all were playing together.
Gibbs the addition from there but I dont think he has a big impact on MCrouch personally

Good to be back for another season! Done a real quick team and a few players have caught my eye. Love to get some thoughts on them:

Luke Ryan: Avg77 Has a long deep kick which is why he has previously taken kickouts. From what I’ve read his play on % are around 1!! Surely with these new rules he’s most likely to benefit? Most kicks will be play ons and he will gain min 10 points?

Tim English: Avg 67. New rules of grabbing the ball out of the ruck benefits him. He’s an agile ruckman who can run. With Roughead leaving does he become the number 1 ruck? If so is an avg of 80 reasonable? I think so and it also gives us time to asses who the top 2 rucks will be.

Jack Steele: Avg 94. Finished the season in sensational form. Last half avg 108 and his last 5 he avg 113. At his price is he an alternative to dusty who only cracked 120 once ? He’s a great run with player and loves to tackle, I see a lot of Conilgio in him. I’m big on him.

Last season I went with Kade Simpsons as my Doch replacement - this year do people think Newman will step into that sort of role? Consistent game time and his scoring could explode.

I don’t think there specifically is a ‘Docherty Role’. Like we saw last season many tried to play it (O’Shea, Marchbank) however didn’t see the stats that docherty put up. I think it’s the docherty role because it’s his, he is an excellent player and he made it so good. I can see some potential upside in Newman, however he’s just unknown in such a weird Carlton defensive system. I would be much more comfortable taking a punt on proven scorers like Smith/Williams or even L.Ryan/D.Roberton. I think in 1 or 2 years down the track we could see an explosive Newman when Simpson finally retires and docherty is back to full fitness

Grundy & Gawn first picked for me, then straight to being seduced by the defender promise land.

Completed my impressive backline, then M1/M2 (MacRae & Merrett).
F1,2&3. Then a few mid pricers & cheapies here and there and ran out of money with a sub par midfield.
It'll generate cash but it won't put up big scores.
(Includes Hannebery & Miles)

Ditched Gawn for Rory Lobb (not great but just to see if the dollars could offer similar points elsewhere)
Some improvements but I'm a few grand off getting Harmes to Yeo and whilst I think Harmes will have a good year, getting players like Yeo that can go BANG some weeks is so damn useful.
Time to cull the forward line. :D
Smith/Dangerfield/Wingard
Worpel/Setterfield/170KPetrucelle

I doubt I'll go with 2 premium rucks even though it took me forever to upgrade Lycett last year but we all have stories of "it took forever to get Grundy, Mitchell, MacRae/McLean, Laird, Whitfield, D.Smith" etc

what's people's thoughts on paying up for Stef and then having set and forget ruckman?
It’s a good ploy. I really tempted to go set and forget. The best cheaper guy, Kreuzer, just seems like a headache. Always getting injured. Gawn might come back to 100-105 average with Preuss there. Goldy, Stef,Witts all good choices and won’t be far off Gawn’s average at R2

I think i had M.Crouch around the wrong way his scores dropped off when Sloane didnt play
he was also struggling with his own issues too so not sure its just sloane related

he had a hamstring injury then when he returned didn't look right for a while (whether he was or not who knows, but seemed to not be moving as well as if worried about guarding it).

Yeah that's what im thinking as i went the value pick in R2 last year and i spent the half the year playing catch up and it was a pain. So purely on that i think im going for the set and forget approach
