How stupid is not having a captain and how do we do a captain's run?

I know open training is totally different but you can just go watch the boys train on any given day can't you? A couple times I've been driving past this preseason and have stopped, snuck in the gate near front of HQ and watched

It's a captains' run and Tom and Ollie go for a jog together along the Torrens.

Most sessions are closed and the coaches if they wish can kick you out at anytime. Sometimes the gate is open before training and just before training starts they close the gate. If they (the coaches) know you well, you might have a better chance of staying in to watch training.
