I think Rozee deserves to win it at the moment. The kid is the best first year player I've seen since Selwood.

He's a gem.

Bailey Smith was the R9 nominee btw, missed him in your list. I think Smith could be a solid chance. Been getting better and more confident every week, despite not getting a full pre-season.

Overall, Rozee would be the current frontrunner

Smith was my pick before the season started, I expect him to finish behind Rozee and Walsh.

Worth noting that one Rising Star selector in Brad Johnson actually admitted on live television that he doesn't watch every game.

I think you'll find literally every single one of the selectors doesn't watch every game. It's unrealistic to expect these people to watch all 9 games every round

Walsh is avergaing 24.2 touches a game. He is having as good a 1st year as I have seen. He is $1.45 fav and will have to drop off a fair way not to win.

Some very good players and past winners havn't had a good a 1st year as Walsh.

Selwood 19.2
Judd 15.0
McGrath 19.7
Heppell 21
Taylor 16.8
O’Meara 21.6
Oliver 19.2

Everyone is playing for 2nd IMO.

We definitely disagree on that. When you get paid to give your opinion on the game I don't think it's much to ask. Extremely unprofessional in my view that selectors don't watch all eligible players each week. It's a very low bar to set for selectors actually.

Yep totally agree. Terry Wallace is one that watches all 9 games (obviously not live), but not sure if he is on the panel.

Walsh
Rozee
Stack
Smith
Baker

Rozee, Smith and Stack will have the best careers though IMO.
Walsh seems vanilla that will rack up the possies but do no damage.
The other 3 will win games for their clubs regularly.

Smith will be the best of the lot
