I think Stack being omitted makes Walsh's debut season all the more remarkable in its consistency for a 19 year old, only once has he gone under 20 possies a game.

Just being super impressed by now consistent Walsh has been over a a hard, gruelling season..

Yep, and in comparison to guys in the same side who aren’t making close to the same impact (Dow, Kennedy, Setterfield, LOB) but are older makes it even all the more remarkable. There’s no doubt he will be ultra consistent throughout his career, got a great temperament as well.

Expectations are sometimes too high for the kids, especially the ones drafted in the first round, for all clubs.

Sometimes we have to be realistic and realise that not all the kids our club drafts will be stars.

There’s no doubt on Walsh though.

You can make an argument for at least 6-7 kids from the 2018 draft (including Walsh)

Just hope Longmire doesn't fudge up his development like he seems to have done with Callum Mills.

I'm not too worried about the fact Fogarty was overlooked for the nomination as neither he nor Oscar Allen are winning the whole thing, but it does make you wonder what the process for the nomination is. Fogarty kicks 5 goals and gains 3 AFLCA votes in a losing side but a kid in the same game without nearly as much impact gets the nod

Getting a bit carried away here. There have been plenty of unrewarded stellar performances from this year's crop. If you only watch Crows games without paying much attention to opposing teams I can see how you wouldve missed it since Young Reid! has traded most of your young talent away.

But give it a spell mate.

and yeah it's body of work over a season, that's fine, but then what's with the round by round nominations and highlighting his stats from that particular game when annoucing the nomination?

Just dont ruin Walsh the way you did every other good kid apart from Cripps.

Could Nick Blakey please have a massive falling out in Sydney & immediately demand a trade to the Pies?
That kid is going to be very special. IMHO he has the biggest upside of all of them. Tall, quick, great mark, tough & a good footy brain. Put another 50 games into him and kapow!

We have said that other players in recent times (Chad Wingard etc), so there an be a danger of getting ahead of ourselves.

Personality i think Blakey's best possie will be on the wing, that is where he will create the most damage, don't think he probably has the tank just yet to play their full time.

Your spot on about his footy IQ, like Sam Walsh's, its off the charts.

McGrath was never the best youngster in the AFL. Clear third behind Burton and SPP that year, and well and truly overtaken by Taranto and McCluggage now. If he was pick 51 rather than pick 1 he wouldn't have even been in the conversation for Rising Star that year.
