Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
We will get draft picks when they leave. This fills up the 9 spots. And 3 and 9 are different by a lot.

Cheap insurance for what? What are we doing next year?
As for not going to kill the club, no ones said that but with the spot we are wasting on him we potentially miss out on a good player who could be part of our next premiership. It’s only a small chance but Mackay has no chance.
I don't care if we replace him with pick 110. That player has more chance of playing in our next premiership and thats a fact.If we delist him this year, we get nothing for him so we will need to replace him with our 9th or 10th pick, replace him next year when we don't have such a large exodus and we replace him with our 4th or 5th pick. He's one of our most professional players with his training and preparation so he has something to teach the SANFL kids he will be playing alongside so he has more to offer than the last rookie we could take on a 1-year contract.

No he is a payed up Hawk hater. Is Sam Manure a Hawks supporter? Patton for pick 80?
Seriously!
You seriously think delisting Mackay next year is crucial to us using pick 40? We need to make 3 changes next year and we can easily achieve that as we will make more calls on some players who havent developed, some will leave and worse case scenario? If pick 110 doesn't show anything you delist him and whats it cost us? A year of minimum wage and given the salary cap we are freeing up who gives a shit.Next year's pick 40 has a better chance of being a better player than this year's pick 110. If you're forced to take 110 on a 2-year contract you then can't take the kid at pick 40 next year. On top of that, there are unmeasurable benefits to having guys with hundreds of AFL game experience playing in the SANFL side instead of top-up players.
You know what s**ts me about AFL.com.au?
they hardly have articles anymore.
it's all videos of people i don't care about telling me things i don't think are true.
I don't want to have to put headphones on to hear rubbish, write it down so I can quickly skimread it between work assignments, not so i have to stop and listen and watch a stupid 5 minute video of idiots.

We have a number of players in the SANFL that need games:
Butts, Scholl, Hamill, NED, Gallucci, Himmelberg, Pohohkle, McAdam, Stengle, Davis, Wilson
Plus pick 4
Plus Frampton
Plus what else we bring in
From our last AFL game there are 6 AFL players we need replacing. But we have ROB and Doedee to come in.
So out of the list of players I listed above, only 4 need to play.
We have enough depth, this notion we need Mackay for experience is just bulls**t. Go through the experience profile of our list and there is still a heap of experience.
All Mackay will do is tie up a list spot with ZERO positive impact on our next premiership. The player we could have grabbed with that late pick may have, but we've removed that chance.
I'd have thought a couple of 3rds with a 4th coming backNo he is a payed up Hawk hater.
However GWS need to get the 800k contract Patton is on off their books plus the fact he has had 3 knee recos, means he will come cheaply.
I agree with you about pick 80 though, I think our 3rd rounder either this year or next gets the deal done.

I replace your unmeasurable (ie not backed up by anything) with a measurable, Mackay will have ZERO impact on our next premiership.
apparently it's also what generates clicksIt's cheaper to pay a couple of talking heads to make videos than it is to employ real journalists. Way cheaper.
I know they are on our list already, I referenced them to highlight our depth and players that need game time, it supports my rationale we don't need Mackay, surprised you didnt get that. Those SANFL guys are already on the list!
We will get draft picks but which ones?
Jenkins and Betts will net us nothing before pick 50
Greenwood might get us something 2nd round.
CEY gone for free
Douglas/Otten retired
Hunter delisted
So lets just assume for the sake of the argument that we get 50 and 51 for Betts and Jenkins and 21 for Greenwood.
We then go with 4, 21, 23, 28, 50, 51, 101.
So 8 out the door minimum. 6 picks before 100.
By your theory none of our older players will be there for the next flag so lets get rid of them all. Sloane, Tex, Talia... trade them all coz theres no way theyre contributing to our next flag.
How much do you think Mackay will be on? You dont seem to have an issue with wasting that cap space. The players we delist next year won't change regardless of if DMac is added to the list, but there will be much less than we need to make this year (3-4 rather than 9-10). Keeping DMac for 1 year then using pick 40 and having an extra $100k in the cap vs paying out a rookie you weren't keen on in the first place just so you can still use pick 40? Keep Dmac for one more year every day of the week. $80-100k can be the difference between signing a player and them choosing another side. It's not something you just throw away, no matter how personal your opinions of DMac are.
The standards he sets off the field is what got him the Brian Sando award a couple of years ago, if he can teach those standards to the kids in the SANFL then that will help us win our next premiership.
I know they are on our list already, I referenced them to highlight our depth and players that need game time, it supports my rationale we don't need Mackay, surprised you didnt get that.
We have 4, 23, 28.
Keath - 1 pick
Greenwood - 1 pick
CEY - 1 pick, we will get compo for him
Betts - 1 pick
Jenkins - 1 pick
So we have 8 picks plus we have the capacity to pick swap for future years if we are short of picks. Where those picks are is irrelevant, they would all have more chance of contributing towards our next premiership than Mackay and thats a fact.
As for your last line, thats not even comparable. They are all under contract, all quality players, they are not the ones receiving a 1 year contract extension at 32.
Look if you want to post shit, go ahead. That has no relevance to your point.
Will they be there for our next flag? No...
So according to you, trade anyone that doesnt fit that criteria.
Your argument is pick 100+ will provide more than Mackay next year.
Besides the odds of that being virtually nil, we have another 8 draft picks who can go ahead of him.
How much do you think Mackay will be on? You dont seem to have an issue with wasting that cap space.
The players we will delist next year will allow us to use pick 40 which was your concern.
You know we have a heap of experience left and coaches to teach standards right? That excuse has to be the biggest load of wank.
Look if you want to post s**t, go ahead.
And it’s good to see once again you’re prioritising 2020 over working towards our next premiership. Can’t wait to finish 14th over 15th, Mackay sure paid off.
So what you are telling me is there is a chance and there is no chance with Mackay, taken you awhile to get the point.Pick 100+ isnt prioritising anything.
The odds of them being better than Mackay at any point in their career is about 0.1%.
You're losing the plot over something so minor.
This Mackay shit crusade you’ve been on for 6 years is really tiresomeHow much do you think Mackay will be on? You dont seem to have an issue with wasting that cap space.

I think there’s a lot of lunacy surrounding the age of players personally. 26-29 is a player’s prime. Keath, CEY, Greenwood were all in the first year or two of their prime. By saying they won’t be a part of our next flag tilt, you’re saying that we won’t be contending for the next 4-5 years.
I would suggest that a big part of the reason we won’t be contending is because these players have left. Greenwood is rated as a top 40 player in the league by the official player ratings (the ratings are flawed, but he still does some important stuff when out there and played in the correct position), CEY established himself as a top 5 mid at the club in 2019 and it was repeatedly proven that when he was out of the side we got beaten up in the middle, and Keath will easily finish in the top 3 in votes per game at the B&F. In return for all 3 of these guys, we’ll get the square root of fu** all.
Got a rumour? This Mackay s**t crusade you’ve been on for 6 years is really tiresome
We’re here to discuss rumours .... and all you want to do is bang your drum![]()
Well clearly not all have as they continue to argue the point. The topic would die pretty quickly otherwise wouldn’t it?Jesus leave the Mackay tantrums to his own thread, we get it.
He’s signed, move on like the rest of us have.
