Selection is a not an exact science. I've heard master coach Clarkson say many times he's pulled the wrong rein in that regard and our MC have acknowledged that on this occasion. But it was one of many issues we had on the night and for people to suggest it was the key to our loss is fanciful in my estimation.

Don't appreciate the soothsayer comment though - I'm on record saying we wouldn't win with Blitz in the ruck - any idiot could see Grundy is another level to Martin who pantsed Blitz a few weeks ago. Grundy was always going to play well.
There is also the negative impact on our defence by playing Blitz in the ruck , so it's a double whammy
You might want to check your understanding of fanciful though - to suggest Grundy's performance wasn't one of the keys to their success......which member of the Match Committee are you?

Both clubs had a vfl practice match against each other at magpies ground, the arvo before the friday night game.

Am pretty confident we will get up and win this. Not fussed about match ups, strategies or tactics, as after the Stanley dropping it’s like Fawlty towers down at the cattery for me. Just going with the tried and tested -we always win second up after a bye.
