HamersRavens (@Darwin_crocs) 188.71 d Krafty Touches (Dannyreed) 161.36

Both teams come into this looking for their first win of the season and when it was all said and done it was easy win that saw HamersRavens improve to 1-2 and send Krafty Touches straight to the bottom of the Mayfield division. In what seemed like a pretty even contest throughout the difference came from a few of HR’s best including Amari Cooper (26.80) who exploited his matchup against the hapless Dolphins D for 2 TD’s and Jameis Winston (23.50) taking perhaps the only other defense that could stake a claim to be worse than Miami for 380 yards and 3 TD’s. The other key to this game was the gametime risky decision to play Devin Smith (5.90) against the aforementioned terrible defense instead of going with Giants rookie QB Danny Dimes (31.74) in his first career start which cost KT 25.84 points and would have made this a much closer contest. Krafty Touches finally got some return from RB pair Joe Mixon (17.50) and Devonta Freeman (12.50) who both hadn’t reached double figures to start the season. With the game already sewn up when MNF rolled around Danny Trevathan (22.25) put a huge exclamation mark on the Ravens win by bullying the Case Keenum led Redskins offense. Leading the Chicago defense with 8 tackles and a huge forced fumble on 4th and inches when he met a leaping Keenum at the line of scrimmage and knocked the ball away putting the stamp on a comfortable HR win.

Record- HamersRavens 1-2, Krafty Touches 0-3

Gillon’s Disciples (gillon ) 232.22 d Paolo’s Pals (PostPaolo) 175.64

Sacksonville is back!!! Or at least it was on Thursday Night Football, as a rampaging Calais Campbell set the disciples up with a lead they would never surrender. Campbell was a wrecking ball piling up 28.50 on the back of 3 sacks and 5 QB hits on Titans QB Marcus Mariota. Adding to that was a special Sunday from the Disciples superstar wide receiver Keenan Allen who made the Texans secondary look foolish on his way to 183 yards, 2 TDs and a huge 43.60. GD’s were made to overcome some poor scores by Luke Falk (-0.08) who got the start on the back of injuries to starting duo Newton and Brees and Malcolm Brown (0.70) who could only manage 3 carries against the Browns. With those poor scores Paolo’s Pals looked to take advantage through two unlikely sources with Austin Hooper (24.60) scoring two touchdowns for the first time in his career and Marvin Jones (22.10) who topped 100 yards for just the second time since Week 12 2017. He was unable to capitalise on those scores largely due to a poor showing from star running back James Conner (5.70) whose 4th quarter fumble gave the 49ers the ball back which lead to the game winning TD and an inactive Rashad Penny occupying one of the flex positions. The story of this one though came on the defensive side of the ball with the Gillon D coming up big with 118 points! HaHa Clinton-Dix (30.0) led the group with his 2 INT, 1 TD game and was noted by JJ Watt’s (20.0) first 2 sacks of the season. Paolo’s defense could only muster up 49 points which is where a majority of the final margin came from. With no starting QB Gillon’s Disciples are going to need this defense in weeks to come.

Bakhgod (Orasia Fantazio ) 211.65 d BPGVandals (BeinPurplenGreen ) 188.56

A top of the division clash between two undefeated teams coming in saw Bakhgod come out 23.09 point victors over a brash BPGVandals. The Vandals tried to frazzle Bakhgod early and often with a series of bizarre barely legible taunts that can only lend themselves to the theory that @BeinPurlenGreen is actually Antonio Brown. It’s safe to say that the taunts were in vain largely thanks to three huge offensive performance from Bahkgod’s stars Mike Evans (45), Christian McCaffrey (27.80) and Mark Ingram (35.50). Mike Evans was lucky he wasn’t in the schoolyard or he would have been sent straight to the principals office for bullying Jack Rabbit Jenkins all night to the tune of 190 yards and 3 first half TD catches. In the earlier games Mark Ingram set Bakhgod on the path to victory when he took advantage of some huge running lanes opened up by the dual threat of Lamar Jackson as he took 16 carries for 106 yards and 3 TD’s. Whilst some mediocre performances from star RB’s Lev Bell (10.30) and Todd Gurley (5.80) hampered BPG’s efforts to catch up their defense did their bit. That defense was led BPG’s highest scorer for the day Chandler Jones (23.75) who took just 5 minutes to register a huge strip sack and fumble recovery in the panthers red zone. In total BPG Vandals defenders recovered 4 fumbles on their way to a combined 85 points as a unit. BPG also showed that he would be well suited to this being a 5 QB League as he had 3 double digit QB scorers on the pine to go with 2 more in his lineup. In the end this matchup was summed up in a parting shot by Bakhgod letting BPG know that he won comfortably even with the previously sledged Nelson Agholor’s 21 points on the bench, just to show the bad blood still exists.

Undrafted Jims (Helfarch ) 208.31 d Half Baked (drd23 ) 181.89

Another matchup of undefeated teams saw the Undrafted Jim’s defy Sleeper’s 19% win prediction and defeat Half Baked to record their third straight victory. The Undrafted Jim’s offense was a consistent and balanced attack in which every player scored double digits and four topped 20 points. Of those Phillip Lindsay’s 29 point performance was a highlight against a GB defense that has been dominant to start the season scoring 2 TDs on the ground and having 130 total scrimmage yards. Even Engram (23.30) continued his emergence into the elite bracket this season to lead all TE’s in points through 3 weeks. Despite a career first 40 burger from Russell Wilson (41.34) in which he had 406 yards through the air, 51 on the ground and 4 total TD’s Half Baked were not able to overcome down days from WR Kenny Golladay (3.70) and QB Baker Mayfield (5.70). Mayfield’s performance was particularly concerning given he only has 22.1 total points on the season, less than half of his projected total of 44.65 and has not looked comfortable playing behind that suspect offensive line. HB were given a nice lift from Brandin Cooks (21.50) who made the most of his 12 targets for a team high 112 yards against the Browns and Blake Martinez’s 12 tackle day which netted him 17.50. The only concern for the UJ’s is a defense that went without a sack or double digit tackle game but when your offense puts up 160.56 you are going to win a lot of games.

Totally Not Helfarch (Raephix ) 207.62 d Fu Pirates (fuey ) 141.44

After back to back losses both by less than 2 points Totally Not Helfarch exploded for over 200 points to get off the schneid against Fu Pirates who couldn’t get anything going on their way to the lowest score of the week. It was a team effort from TNH that saw them get to their highest score of the season on the back of only Tarik Cohen (4.40) and Cam Jordan (2.25) scoring single digits. Cooper Kupp (34.60) was again sensational with 101 yards on 11 catches including 2 TD’s but perhaps the most valuable points came from Jacoby Brissett. He finished with a score of 20.80 after completing his first 16 passes on his way to a 76% completion percentage, 310 yards and 2 TD’s. After a strong 3 weeks taking over from the retired Andrew Luck, the 24th round pick currently sits 23rd overall in points scored. Those points were invaluable when you consider Fu Pirates much higher picked QB’S 3rd rounder Jared Goff (8.12) and 5th round selection Jimmy G (1.38) combined for 6 turnovers. Add to that Chris Carson’s (2) 3rd fumble in as many weeks and you get an offense that gave up 26 points in turnovers. Fu Pirates also had struggles at TE with 2 TE’s already lost to IR, Kyle Rudolph (2.10) could only muster 1 target for 11 yards in the new look run heavy Vikings offense. Alvin Kamara was the lone shining light for this team accounting for an incredible 26% of the teams points with 37.10 points, 163 scrimmage yards and 2 TD’s. On the defensive side of the ball it was the Khalil Mack (17.25) show as he was at his game wrecking best for TNH. He had 2 sacks and 2 FF’s both in the first half on a night when it seemed like he was hanging off Case Keenum on every play.

Cam, Saquon and Brees out with Melvin just coming back now. Had to play with a 0 (Falk) because there's no QB's.

Just gotta hope Teddy can man the fort until Brees comes back and Cam takes some steroids or something. Also for Dannyreed to go winless the whole season.

Disregarding the fact Sleeper gives the Undrafted Jims have a 1% chance of winning apparently, despite being down 77 points, I think its safe to say Shuttles is the only undefeated team left

I'll remember this jinx.

Week 4 Review

Game of the week-
Paolo’s Pals (PostPaolo ) 135.37 d Krafty Touches (Dannyreed) 129.15

In what was a low scoring but close contest the whole way throughout Paolo’s Pals got the nod thanks to a huge MNF performance from James Conner (26.50) to down the winless Krafty Touches by 6.22. This game was close right up until the kickoff of MNF with the Pals holding a slender lead with Conner and Dunlap to play vs the duo of Mixon and JuJu Smith-Schuster. It was apparent half way through the second quarter when James Conner caught a 21 yard TD pass on a play which was a designed screen for Jaylon Samuels that the Bengals had covered, that this one was over. Conner took advantage of his backup QB Mason Rudolph’s incredibly low 2.1 air yards per attempt to finish with 8 catches for 83 yards, 43 yards rushing and a TD. One player who did not benefit from Mason Rudolph’s short passing was Juju Smith-Schuster (4.50) who finished 16.16 points of his projected total on the back of just 4 targets for 3 catches and a career low 15 yards receiving. Earlier in the weekend Paolo’s Pals had an up and down week with some stars like Prescott (5.62) and Marlon Mack (3.90) who missed a large chunk of the game with a bad ankle underperforming. It was another huge performance from TE Austin Hooper (23.50) who doubled his projected output and for the 2nd straight week went over 20 points after a huge 9 catch 130 yard day. For Krafty Touches it was more of what has plagued them so far this season a lack of consistent playmakers with high draft picks Joe Mixon (10.30) and Sony Michel (6.30) who between them have achieved their projected total once this season. All seemed lost for the Touches half way through Sunday after Danny Dimes (8.30) threw INT’s on back to back drive’s to effectively half what could have been a nice 16 point game from the rookie and Roquan Smith was a last minute out due to personal reasons. Jadeveon Clowney (12.00) answered back when he leapt in front of a Kyler Murray screen pass intended for David Johnson and took it to the house to get the game back to being close. Paolo’s Pals weren’t going out like that though when on SNF Michael Thomas (18.90) took 9 Teddy Bridgewater passes for 95 yards to put his team into a position to take this one out which they eventually did.

I Hate Love Songs (balmainforever ) 217.21 d Bakhgod (Orasia Fantazio ) 193.69

In the highest scoring game of Week 4 I Hate Love Songs got themselves back to .500 and dealt Bakhgod their first loss of the season in an entertaining matchup. This one was interesting from the outset of Thursday night football when BG’s Aaron Rodgers (21.48) completed 5 of his first 7 passes to IHLS’s Devante Adams (28.00) including a beautiful over the shoulder catch and run for 58 yards. Matt LeFleur said all week that Devante Adams needed to get more touches and that he did, piling up 10 catches for 180 yards before leaving with a turf toe injury late in the game. The morning slate of games saw BG get a huge showing from RB star Christian McCaffrey (35.40) as he had 10 catches, 179 scrimmage yards and a Tud to give his team a boost. IHLS were able to obtain a nice lead despite McCaffrey’s huge day thanks to 7/7 players scoring double digits with the standout being Jabrill Peppers (20.75) who took one of three Dwayne Haskins interceptions 32 yards to the house. Bakhgod took advantage of the Rams vs Bucs 55-40 shootout with Mike Evans (18.90), Robert Woods (30.15) and new addition Shaq Barrett (20.75) who saved a down day with the defensive play of the week when he strip sacked Goff on the last drive to seal the win for the Bucs. It still wasn’t enough as IHLS got a solid 21.90 performance from David Johnson and sealed this one with another big defensive game from Jaylon Smith (18.0) on SNF. This game came down to a very consistent performance from IHLS vs Bakhgod not being able to overcome 7 single digit scores despite some huge scores.

Til Valhal (J Shuttlesworth ) 210.23 d Undrafted Jims (Helfarch ) 138.69

Til Valhal registered their 3rd 200+ score of the season to finally prove the Sleeper prediction model correct in it’s search for the Undrafted Jims first loss of the season. The Til Valhal offense continues to put up huge numbers despite Scary Terry McLaurin not taking the field, Pat Mahomes (18) not scoring a TD for just the 2nd time in his career and only 35 rushing yards to Dalvin Cook (19). The TV offense alone managed 145.98 on the back of a pair of 2 TD showings from Austin Ekeler (29.20) and Chris Godwin (41.20). Godwin continued his breakout campaign with an all-time performance catching 12 Jameis Winston passes for 172 yards and 2 TD’s to be the 3rd ranked WR through 4 weeks. For the Jims offense it was the new addition of Big Montana Will Dissly (16.70) who registered his 4th receiving touchdown in 3 games and a 17.80 TNF performance from Aaron Jones. Jones was largely ineffective running the ball registering just 1.6 yards per carry but used a TD and 6 receptions to boost his score. Deshaun Watson (9.60) wasn’t able to overcome his tough matchup against the top passing defense in the NFL so far this season and could only account for 160 yards passing. After his early season heroics UJ fans will always have a soft spot for Showy Joe Schobert (24.75) and he was massive in this one with 17 tackles and a sack to be the highest scorer on the team. Unfortunately for Schobert 4 of his defensive team mates failed to register 5 points in a down day for the unit as a whole. On the defensive side of the ball for TV linebackers Shaq Thompson (21.25) and Tremaine Edmunds (17.50) piled up a combined 23 tackles and a sack. Another impressive performance and with 100 more points than their nearest competitor on the season Til Valhal have put their hand up as the team to beat going forward.

Gillon’s Disciples (gillon ) 143.20 d FuPirates (fuey ) 124.73

No Saquon, No QB, No Melvin Gordon no worries for Gillon’s Disciples as they overcome a lot of unavailable players to beat FuPirates in a low scoring contest. With only Saquon Barkley’s replacement Wayne Gallman (25.80) topping 20 points thanks to his 2 TD’s and 118 scrimmage yards, this was always going to be a close game. Unfortunately for the FuPirates the difference in the game was the turnover differential of -6 (24 points). Jared Goff (12.68) was the worst culprit with 3 INT’s and a lost fumble which decimated what should have been a great score after he threw for 517 yards and 2 TD’s. Kerryon Johnson (13.70) had his 150 yard day soured by a lost fumble and Sammy Watkins (4.40) had his second straight week with a fumble. Ironically FP’s highest scoring player Chris Carson (18.50) had his first fumble free game of the season and made that count for 100 yards rushing against the soft Cardinals D. For the Disciples it may have been a relatively clean game but there was not many playmakers on offense with only the aforementioned Gallman (25.80) and his teammate Sterling Shepard (18.40) in double digits. Shepard seems to have developed a good rapport with rookie QB Danny Dimes since he took over last week, in that time he has had 14 catches for 176 yards and a TD to be the top Giants receiver. Although the GD offense stalled Luke Falk (0.00 BYE) improved on his output form last week and it was yet again the Discples defense who provided the lift. They scored 68.50 points total on the back of big plays by JJ Watt (17.75) who had a huge strip sack in which he recovered the ball and Lavonte David (16.25) who had a crucial interception on FP QB Jared Goff. The FP defense had a huge game from Bradley Chubb (17.25) as he registered his first sack of the season taking down Jags Rookie Gardner Minshew but it came at a cost as it was determined after the game the second year pro will head to IR with a torn ACL.

BPGVandals (BeinPurplenGreen ) 173.85 d TotallyNotHelfarch (Raephix ) 140.52

BPGVandals cruised to 3-1 in a consistent performance to hand TNH their third and biggest loss of the season. The Vandals had 9/14 players reach double figures in what was a good team effort. Todd Gurley (26) paced the team in a game which involved only 5 carries of which he took 2 to the end zone, to go with 7 catches for 54 yards. Veterans Phillip Rivers (18.40) and Emmanuel Sanders (15.40) turned in solid performances whilst another veteran Tom Brady (1.70) really struggled. Against a Bills defense that ranks number 1 overall since the start of 2017, Brady was never comfortable and had his lowest QBR in a game since 2006. He wasn’t the only one in this contest to be plagued by a tough matchup with TNH’s Nuke Hopkins (5.10) playing the best passing D in 2019 so far, Adam Thielen (2.60) against that scary Bears defense and Josh Allen (0.72) playing a stellar Patriots D which has allowed a combined -2.5 points to QB’s so far this season. That’s right negative 2.5 points in 4 games, it also helps to mention that he was knocked out half way through the fourth quarter after a brutal hit from Patriots CB Jonathon Jones. The NotHelfarchs (if you can call them that) had some huge playmakers to counteract these low scores with Cooper Kupp (26.90) taking 9 catches for 125 and a touch and Leonard Fournette (26.50) rolling all over the Broncos. Fournette had a monster day with 225 rushing yards on 29 carries including a huge 81yard run from the Jags 7 yard line. These two performances got the game back to level pegging before MNF but with 2 BPGVandals LB’s still to play. Needing a miracle TNH got exactly the opposite with Devin Bush (20.25) and TJ Watt (13.25) wrecking a Bengals O-Line that would be a bad college O-Line. Unfortunately for TNH they had 5 players on the bench who scored more than 15 points which is a bitter pill to swallow for a team that has been very competitive that now sits 1-3.

Half Baked (drd23 ) 178.28 d HamersRavens (Darwin Crocs ) 156.90

A strong team performance led Half Baked to comfortable win over HamersRavens in a game which proves defense win games. Half Baked outscored the Ravens 72 to 43 on defense which would ultimately prove the difference thanks largely to Blake Martinez’s (18.75) 15 tackles and Jordan Hicks (22) having 12 tackles including 2 forced fumbles. HamersRavens looked like they might run away with it when Nick Chubb (39.30) took an 88 yards run to the house on his way to a career day with 165 yards rushing and 3 TD’s. Chubb’s running mate OBJ (4) was blanketed all day by his HR teammate Marlon Humphrey and besides an on-field scuffle had no impact and in Detroit Mecole Hardman (-1.10) lost a fumble to drag them back to earth. Couple that with the pair of TD’s HB wide receiver Kenny Golladay caught on his way to 25.20 and this game was back in favour of Baked Mafia. HR’s QB Jameis Winston responded with 27.30 points thanks to 385 yards and 4 passing TD’s but it was never enough to get the Ravens into a winning position. Ezekiel Elliott (16) struggled through an uncharacteristic down day in which his longest run was just 6 yards and he fumbled on a key 4th and 1 in the 2nd quarter. He saved his score when he scampered through for a TD and got involved in the passing game to the tune of 6 catches. For HR there would be no Amari Cooper (9.80) magic as he was stifled for much of the night by Marshon No Score Lattimore. When it came down to it 9 players failing to reach double digits wasn’t going to get the job done against a Half Baked team that dominated defensively and only had 4 players fail to reach 10.

Paolo’s Pals weren’t going out like that though when on SNF Michael Thomas (18.90) took 9 Teddy Bridgewater passes for 95 yards to put his team into a position to take this one out which they eventually did.

Record- Paolo’s Pals 2-2, Krafty Touches 0-4

A great game Danny, that only one of our sorry poor scoring teams could win.
