Memberships 2019 St.Kilda Membership Thread (FINAL TALLY 42,910)

How many more Memberships is 4-1 start to the season worth or even a 5 - 1 start

Very very interested in that myself Mowman.

It was disappointing that the club was aiming at 40K before the Hawks game and didn't hit it.

Over the last 3-4 years....the club has pretty well hit every target it aims for.

Can't believe we're not making up any ground on last year.

Easter weekend.

Plenty of good publicity coming our way this week, and if we can get over the line this week against the Crows I think people will sign up in droves.

Very hard to get huge numbers after the year starts no matter what the results. Firstly some want value for money so only leaves 3 game memberships left. Secondly most have made up their mind about the club.

If this start doesn't get them.on board, nothing will.

Great work.

You basically couldn't ask for a better start to the season...…. 4 wins out of the 5 starting games(good form/2 wins in the JLT) and the 5th game a loss by 5 points.

I'm guessing that many supporters were very badly shell shocked from last season and as Plugger stated....they've already made up their minds.

I'm hoping if that's the case....they change their minds.

Many are probably stunned from the start we've had this season...I know I am......as are most people I know.

There's still 8 home games to go and the "home" replacement game against the Bloos(Aug 17th at the G) to compensate for the Shanghai game.

If all those disgruntled Big Footy posters change their mind, that should put back at least 600.

Lol just kidding. .

I really love the micro-marketing the club is including in its emails to members.
Very, very smart.
Targeted.
No cost.
If you don’t know what I am talking about, check out the Round 6 email sent out today.

Very clever. Was all over the screens at the ground as well last game.
Great supporter recognition.

Yup. Awesome idea, poor old Travis and Janis now; their absences are to blame if Jack or Seb turn in a shocker.

Well done Saints

Literally did LOL!
Didn’t think of that!

I think people are underestimating how scarred the fans who dropped off are

4-1 isnt bring back too many of the very scarred ones...and its showing.

Agreed. There isn’t much the club can do more than what it is already.

It’s hard to believe that 6,500 members have not renewed their memberships from last year. But people are fickle and have an assortment of reasons.

The club can’t do much more than what it has done. It just has to persist, continue to deliver and over time people will come back.

What our figures do show is that we appear to have a core of 40,000 members. That’s a good base to have and would be less but comparable to most of the big clubs. Carlton’s base is about 50,000 and if Richmond, Essendon, Hawthorn and Collingwood went to the bottom of the ladder for an extended period then they would have a similar base as people dropped off.

Our challenge will be building on our base. Continued improvement this year will make that challenge easier.

40,502. That's after a home game? We are really edging along. Thought we'd get more sign ups at the gate, seeing as it was a good crowd for a game against an interstate team (28k I think).

It's very disappointing isn't it.

The number on the club website maybe a number pre Saturday's game....there was a good sized Q at the membership stand prior to the start of the game.

The crowd from sat night was 28,400......thought we'd get over 30K tbh.

Our average crowd for our 3 home games is 28,200.

i'm interested to know if the figure includes the new NAB Auskick initiative of signing kids up for a membership of their nominated club

I'm pretty sure it would St.C.

I was last year working on getting my great grand nephew on board with the Saints.

His father said to me..."don't bother"

Once the kid started Auskick and nominated the Bombers as his club...presto.....a junior Bombers membership arrived.

I was horrified.
