Daniher gawwwwwwwwwwn, this is a textbook softening up campaign.

Is good for us beyond just LOLZ and the DRUG CHEATZ with their big hope bailing on them.

Our pick 7 will be involved in getting Papley out and will be heading to Bomberland.

Question is what Sydney send back to us. Though ffs I could almost do pick 7 for Papley straight up.

Going to stick my neck out and say Blakey and Daniher have something in common but darned if I can identify it.

Both are stunning examples of the Peter Crouch "what would you be if you weren't a footballer" syndrome?

Apart from Atley the other guy I want to see more midfield time next year is Polec.
In his last year at port he was playing in there and was starting to see some good form. I think he can go to another level.
I think with a year of familiarity with his teammates under his belt, Polec will be better again next year without needing a change in role. License to win his own ball, going when it's his turn, sure.

He’s actually a decent player
Is best 22 in a strong side over 170 games and still young

Knows how to find the footy and is dual sided.

Would be happy to try get Ellis as a free agent tbh
He's just another plodder who looked promising in like 2013, but would struggle to get a game at Carlton.

Haven’t been around the traps here long enough to know if you are joking or not, if you aren’t, that’s a really poor call. If something came back our way later in the first round/early second with Papley, then yes

Yep, that's why he just played in a Qualifying final for the premiership favourites, because he would struggle to get a game at Carlton.
Are you arguing that there aren't plodders playing in other finals teams? Tell me, how many games has Jacob Townsend had at Richmond since his lucky break in the premiership side?

*Edit, on a side note, he wouldn't be getting a game if they had a healthy list. He could hardly get a game last year when they were rolling, and had relatively minimal injury troubles.

Seriously, Papley is exactly what we need, has potentially ten years of footy ahead of him.

If we got a third back, I'd do it every day.

Well, no, because that doesn't remotely resemble what I posted. Also, he's played 21 games for them this year and for someone who, in your words, "could hardly get a game last year," he played 18 in 2018 before getting dropped for finals, which he hasn't been this year.

I just said that if he's getting a game for the premiership favourites in the finals, then he would absolutely get a game at Carlton, as he would here too. I don't think he's a jet necessarily, but he'd be in our best 22 most, if not all, weeks. He'd be a 15-22 ranked player for us because we need better depth in those outside mid/specialist winger roles.

I agree with all of that except that I don't think we will be improved by targeting someone who sits in that 15-22. We need better than that. We should create depth by pushing down, getting good footballers and shuffling our pre existing players in that 15-22 further down the order. Not sure Ellis makes us better I guess.
