Yep all in the same team.

Only 2 of them inside fwd 50 though (resting ruck and king).

Bruce and membery on a centrewing each up the ground all day.
They cover halfback to halfforward between the arcs.
Endurance beasts running up and down the wings all day- providing leadup option coming out of defence, and turnover marking when the opposition are kicking out of our fwd line.

King and resting ruck providing fwd targets for bruce and members (and the smalls at their feet) to kick to at chf and FF.

And whichever of ryder or marshall is rucking covers the centre square and pushes back into defence.

It's not ideal having membery (our best setshot) up the ground, but his running power is equally a huge weapon we can use.
In the same way adelaide use tom lynch (and the tigers have used jack riewoldt) high up the ground as linkmen- i think we can use both membery and bruce to do this on both wings.
The problem is that beastly athleticism aside, Bruce is only good for about 4 marks and 12 disposals per game despite running all over the ground and is not a very reliable field kick.

Membrey takes about 6 marks a game and I'd rather him be within range most of the time.

I guess this is why Kent was brought in and Hill/Jones are being looked at… to improve our transition. Acres hasn't really worked in this role unfortunately.

King, Bruce, Ryder, Membrey is too tall considering our small aren't frontal pressure specialists. Ryder would be a stop gap if we move Bruce on, eventually replaced by King playing the second ruck/fwd.

Too much faith being put in a zero game player coming off two major injuries for mine, and this is before we even know if he’s any good or not. If Bruce is let go for a second rounder we’ve lost the plot.
Lot of truth in that. Right now Paddy has done more than Ming. I think considering our history we can all be forgiven for being a bit gun shy where trades are concerned.

I got to be honest thought Roberton was done , but been told that Dr Stone has given him the all clear.

Was in magnificent shape .
He was given the all clear last time. Isn’t his heart, all things considered, perfectly fine? They just don’t know why it does what it does. Unless they’ve figured out what makes it stop or skip or whatever it is, I doubt we will see him on the field.

Better tell Stephenson at the Pies ..because according to Stoney the risks are similar.

See what happens.

Probably best to not stereotype people based on their race either, but what do I know...
can take it to pms or something as to not derail thread, but as someone that has travelled through SEA and lived for a short time in ho chi minh, everything from those photos and posts indicated a sex tourism scenario rampant throughout the region. Playing the outrage card (that we've stereotyped her race) is a classic move to distract from the actual point in order to win the argument.

Examples. A man walks up to another man and says he's gonna punch him in the face. The second man tells the first man to fu** off, the first man punches him in the face. The real issue is the unprovoked violence, the distraction is getting caught up in the second man saying fu** off. "Why couldn't he have just asked nicely for the first man to walk away".

Another, a group of light skinned men approach a group of dark skinned men and call them racial slurs, then beat them up. The issue, a racially motivated attack, the distraction,"How do we know these lighter skinned men weren't just light skinned aboriginal people? you're being racist assuming that they weren't purely from looks!"

From what we could derive outta that idiot's posts is, he was an old white dude, maybe 50-60, she could have been anywhere between 16-25, he was sleeping with her, either for money or for the promise of marriage, his older and fatter white friend was too (as seen in one of the photos), and he was showing her off to the forum (while setting an example for his son). Compared to him and his mate, she's more than 'great', she's miss f*n universe. Continuing to judge her on how sexually appealing she is to you is furthering the gaze that judges women largely on their sexual appeal, not in actually seeing them as the complete humans they are.

With all that said, I'm pro sex work, and have multiple female friends that are sex workers, but the difference here is sharing photos without her consent, and the socioeconomic conditions that have forced her to fu** gross old white men. Do what you gotta do, but don't go flaunting her photos and dignity around completely unprovoked.

Playing up on centrewings, Bruce and membery don't need to mark everything that comes their way to be effective.
Infact they can take zero marks and we could still win lots of games- as long as they contest and get the ball going our way more often than not from those contests.

I disagree that ryder would come in only if bruce is gone.
I think the club has had a gutful of getting destroyed for 5+ mins of every quarter in the ruck when our ruckman rests.

Not to mention the fwd structure we lose for that 5+mins every qtr when bruce rucks.

Ryder (or someone like him) is coming into the 22 regardless of whether bruce stays or goes I believe.

Has Stephenson collapsed on field? Has he had a second scare after a game of footy?
Just because both have heart conditions doesn’t mean they’ve got the same risks involved.
I’m sure the Doctor knows more than me, I just hope for his sake (and the spot on the list) it isn’t all for nothing after another collapse in the preseason.

What are you doing saints fans?

For a brief, fleeting moment yesterday you had the best damned trade thread the world had ever seen.

We are now poorer for its deletion.
That kind of garbage has no place on our board, so if that's what brings you here, you'd best find somewhere else to be. As I said at the time, it's hugely unrepresentative of our posters and that particular poster isn't a regular. You'll be waiting a while for what you seem to enjoy and our mods will shut it down quickly.

You are right, I do enjoy some downright depravity in my personal time that would see me jailed in parts of Tasmania but that wasn't where I was going on this occasion.

It was the sheer irreverence.

"...doo de doo de do hmm so what's happening in other trade threads.. hmm... Carlton still think they're getting Coniglio yeh *******s that'd be right... essendon ... some crap about Dodoro.. hmm what about the saints, ok.. um..... <long pause> .. well giddy up this has certainly taken a different direction"

You are still just assuming and your experiences are irrelevant because you don't know the person.

I'd say hypothesisng about someones behaviour, social and financial status based on race is far worse than an opinion of if someone is, in their eyes, attractive or not.

I mean the fact that you based your opinion of this woman on your past experiences of other people with what you assume to be similar circumstances IS stereotyping.

Crappy stop gap.
Most seasons Bruce manages 35+ goals. ( on top of his marks and 12 disposals, Goals are kind of ...well the goal. ).
Rhyder once kicked 27 as a forward, but that was 9 seasons ago. I'd expect 20 from him.

Is our talls structure going to be:
Membrey + 1 Ruck/Fwd.

That sucks.

Not to mention the amount of games when we have a tall injured during game time, we have no tall on the bench and none rotating, we end up with Ross at FF, DMac at CHB and Acres in the ruck. Our mids are bloody ordinary and our answer seems to be we need more of them on the ground to help there ordinariness.
I'm more than ok with an extra tall, rotate them on the bench.
People then moan when Bruce is ineffective because he's playing injured, Acres playing out of position and injured and DMac not just being DMac but having to do it on a much bigger player.
