Terry Wallace said tonight he reckon we should get around pick 16-22 for Steven, with that being slightly under due to his circumstances this year.

The cats fans expecting a third rounder might need to adjust their expectations a little bit.

Seems close to me. 15 to 25 was my guess. Lets hope he stays.

The AFL doesn't give out priority picks like that anymore. In the last two years, Dogs have lost Clay Smith and Jack Redpath (two of our best forwards) to knees, Tom Boyd to mental health and Picken to concussion. Thats basically our entire forward line gone, but not one word of a priority pick. I wouldn't get your hopes up

PPs are about equalisation. A team who won a flag 3 years ago is unlikely to get one.

That won’t happen. If he goes we will get about that pick or maybe just a little better if kelly gets a pick around 15 that’s the best we can hope for

Well Franklin was got through money and a long contract. We have tried that by the sounds of it. Losing Marshall isn’t creative. It’s madness. Carlisle well I’m not sure on that either especially as you say we have brown. He has a year left if not less. Getting rid of your best players to get players isn’t a good idea. Also getting rid of talls for mids is against everything we have done for over 5 years. I don’t think they will go back on that.

I don’t always agree with you Plugger and align with your thought processes but I am 100% behind you on this. Getting rid of our best players and or talks is madness.
Let’s get rid of our best players to recruit just as good players or maybe even better players and just go around in circles with a so so list. If we win 2-4 of our last games we look more attractive to come to. Throw in some coin and bingo.
We could finish on 10 games with a horror of an injury list. Wow.
Get the boys from Freo and we are stronger again which could be around 8th spot next year.
That leads to possibly attracting higher profile players again. Then who knows?!
You need to build not sacrifice young upcoming or structural players.

In Pluggers defence there was probably about 95% of our supporters who would not have picked Marshall to be where he is now. I am one of those and criticised the club for not getting a ruckman.

Come on premmo. I was one of few who said this year said Marshall should be our first ruck. Last years form was D grade. I’m not sure if you understand ratings that I do but I do them on the current year not future years. And I don’t believe I said he was D grade anyway. Don’t make things up please.

Once again we are not rating our squad , when our squad is as good as any running around
M.King - unproven but elite junior who looks capable of for-filling his potential.
Hunter Clark - showed last Sunday he is tracking in the right direction
Wilkie - Looks like he has played 100 games , just a smart footballer
Steven - just class
Hannebery - if he gets on the park will be a ripper , like he showed when he picked up 22 touches in a half in his first game.
Carlisle - elite intercept marker - would be one of the best CHB running around
Battle - at 20yr of age will be anything
Billings - becoming the star we wanted
Marshall - a freak
Membery - just a good player
Steele - does the job week in week out / keep Bont quiet last week.
Gresham is becoming our little master
Bruce - much maligned but any one who ● Ranked 2nd in Total Contested Marks in the AFL is far better than what you think.
Webster - this guy is a very good defender , has everyone forgotten how good he is.
Ross - another guy that doesn't get much love - but I'd rather him getting 30 touches than the other side.
Lonie - was written off last year and now look.
Acres - we know he is better than he has showed us this year
Geary - just a fearless captain
Hind - Parker - Long - Kent - Langlands - Young - / take your pick one of them can fill the forward pocket
Paton - developing well
Coffield - finding his feet , I predict he will become a very good player
McKenzie - another guy who gets shafted on here - has a run of bad form and they want to hang and 1/4 him - better than what people say he is on here.
Joyce - Austin - Marsh - Clavarino , all have improvement in them.
Savage - Newnes , useful at times
White - has the skill
Brown - currently the best fullback we have - still does the job.
Dunstan - does his job
Add on Sinclair , Phillips , Bytel , Mayo , Rice they can all play


Thats 41 players that you can not write off

then you have

that you can right off

Then we bring in Coniglio - Tomlinson - Brad Hill - Jack Martin we play finals and could easily win a flag with just 4 inclusions into our best 22

My award for best post. I have also said we have the core and a group of improvers. Add some extra talent of 2-3 players and boom here we come. They won’t see us coming.

My point is not the grading but the scope in the players - I thought Marshall would be a player , but no way as good has he has become.
Wilkie at the start of the year he was a list clogger , now he is one of the best defenders we have.
Hunter Clark , from being not up to speed and then a future super star.

And anyone looking at the scope of our squad is around the best in the AFL and we still have kids like Paton , Battle , Coffield , Bytel and Max King ----- just massive for us ----- any coach would just rubbing there hands together to coach us

Well it depends I beleive. He seems only a small forward. If we got Draper for him it gives us our second ruck who is very highly rated and we lose a fringe small. If you think Parker, Kent and Lonie can get it done then why not.
