Interesting what Tom Morris had to say about Zac Jones on AFL Tonight just before.

Didn't quite catch all of it but the jist of it was that he's very open to coming back to Vic and it sounded as though Sydney may even be OK with it for the right trade as well.

Time to reunite the McCartin boys...

I’m not bagging anyone, just reminding people that their blind loyalty to the club is some times misguided, we should hold the club and employees accountable.

i was wrong mate, you were right, but geeze, that'd be the first i've been called loyal to the club on here in like 4 seasons

i've been accused of the exact opposite these days

Hello, does anyone have any information about the Saints supposedly chasing Buddy Franklin? Would it work for us if we did get him?

Taken from Facebook,

The talk doesn’t start from nowhere, and we’ve digged long and hard to find out as much as we can.
Recent talk of Buddy Franklin leaving the swans to pursue another tilt at the flag has been gathering momentum for the last 2 weeks, and there is truth to it
5 clubs have asked the question to his management, these clubs are
St Kilda
Hawthorn
Port Adelaide
Carlton
Collingwood
Those closest to buddy have revealed he is entertaining the idea of moving clubs once again, in the hope to find some more onfield success.
He’s management has been told by all 5 clubs that if they were to trade for buddy, this criteria will need to be met
- Must Complete all training sessions and pre seasons
- be offered a 2 year contract initially, with a trigger clause dependant on how many games he plays to earn another year.
- half of his wage be paid by the Sydney Swans, which they’ve supposedly agreed to do.
- Be the face of the AFL Victoria’s Indigenous programs
The fairytale of going back to the club where it all started for him in Hawthorn is enticing, but not necessarily the biggest pull for him, with hawthorn more keen on securing cross town rival giant Jon Patton instead.
Carlton and St Kilda on that list are not in flag contention, but are crying out for a marquee player of buddy’s caliber, and they are willing to pay him the most out of the 5 listed clubs
Port is another option for him, with Port having the room in their salary cap due to the departures of Wingard and Polec, they too are in need of a key forward.
Collingwood has been highlighted as a option for buddy, by club legend Tony Shaw, but with Collingwood already potent forward line, would they really need him? In our opinion, he would still be a good fit, and a forward line consisting of the likes of De goey, Elliot, and Buddy, it sure would
Scare any opposition team, but push the likes of cox and mihocek our the team.
So what do you all think? Would he be better going elsewhere with Sydney’s decline? Would you like him at your club?

I got told by someone last week, maybe the week before whose family have been involved with Collingwood for years that Sydney & Buddy were both looking to get him back to Melbourne, but said Hawthorn. In terms of us, the only way people would link us would be because we have the money to get him. Otherwise makes no sense. I love Buddy, but not for us.

No thanks.
We’ve got our marquee player...his name is Winx.

pfff, f yes to buddy, but it'd never happen. membrey's a fine player, but you'd be joking if you'd have him over buddy

He's not quite what he was last year, to me he looks bashed around. I would rather spend that money on a prime mid. He's a 32year old tall that plays small, not many normal FFs are still going at 33 and losing a yard of pace with his game isn't ideal. I would rather see what King could do. Put up big money for Taranto or Coniglio.

Sydney have tried to turn him into a KPF this year but he's never been a huge mark in a pack type.

If we take Buddy off their hands, after taking Hannebery, then some serious questions need to be asked about what under-the-table deals are being attached to these trades.

Lethers has to take their rubbish or they release the sex tapes from the SCG?

Sure I'd prefer a taranto/cogniglio too but I don't think we're in a position to be choosy. It really depends on how we perform this year, if we can make a case that we'll be contending over the next few years then we won't have to pay nearly as much. Also it will be much easier convincing a star to come over if they know they'll be playing with Buddy and contending for a flag.

But the reality is I don't think Buddy would think twice about us as it stands, though if we keep defying expectations anything could happen..

We should be looking at Troy Menzel former blue/Crow from the SANFL.

He is a class above and loves a goal.

Could be our next Parker but with more goals
