Seb Ross on SEN this morning was a huge wrap for Billy said all the players just love him

One thing with Billy, he’s a ripping bloke, but he’s also incredibly ‘footy’ smart. Knows game plans, structures, work ethics to make it in the big time. There are very similar traits in both codes now, and he’s been heavily influential with the players on special tactics. More than we could have ever thought when he first arrived.

I didn’t think a skinny kid would have such an immediate impact. He looks like being a jet!

Walsh looks like a gun too, already two potential superstars from this draft. I think on radio they said Walsh has the best possession stats of any first year player ever.

I thought Walsh looked a bit safe and bland and Rozee was too risky not being a true mid, I called both of them wrong

I'm no good with waiting, I might have majorly ****** up following a side that averages one premiership every 160 years. I also get nervous when more and more players out of the top end of a single draft come good, you know the averages mean there are only about 3 out of most top 10s.

Yeah I understand. It’s one thing we haven’t had in a while. A top pick that has made an immediate impact. Walsh, Oliver, Rozee type. We have done very well with later picks though.. moneyball if you will. I almost feel sick at the thought of King playing soon, because I’m so nervous. I’m that confident he’ll end up being one of our greatest players once his career is over.

Kelly and Bont have been excellent from the get go, doesn't mean Billings wont ever be any good.

I also said Smith looks shit house & that isn’t going to well at the moment.

I liked Rozee because he just looked like a speedy & skilled outside mid which we are crying out for. Played as a running back flanker in the sanfl & as a small forward in the U18s comp. looked pretty versatile & was always a great mark for his height. Saints supporter too.

Mitch Cleary seems to think Jack Martin more likely to leave GC than stay.

Tried to get out last year but it fell through.

It was Essendon and not us, but with our form going the way it is and Essendon not having a first round pick we are in a good position.

I’m not sure Bombers would have the $$ without more 3rd party arrangements, a la Shiel. If we want him bad enough, I’m pretty confident he’s one we can land..

Apparently the Bombers got to "pay out" a lot of players outside their cap. They just loaded up older players on compo rather than pay-packet.

It’s funny comparing Roo & King each providing tactical analysis.

King on one hand reads from a stat sheet & talks to diagrams & graphs.

Roo on the other hand contextualises the subject & paints a picture for the layman to visualise.

I love the way Roo explains the game & the what & why. I could listen to Roo all day.
