Mitch Cleary seems to think Jack Martin more likely to leave GC than stay.
Tried to get out last year but it fell through.
It was Essendon and not us, but with our form going the way it is and Essendon not having a first round pick we are in a good position.

Coniglio has committed to GWS from what I hear, just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.If Martin nominates St Kilda, then I could see the club trying to offer maybe 2 first round picks plus change for Martin and King (assuming other offers for Martin are a roughly 1st round to ours).
Would we then have the cap space (and solid enough season) to effectively chase Coniglio?![]()
We picked the right year to bounce back to form. We will be a hell of a lot more attractive to everyone than 9 months ago
Martin would be a great get.
Anyone else catch jack martin at his whipping boy best yesterday?
Putrid.
As he's done his whole career, he's sucked plenty of folks in with a couple of 'ok' performances, but never fails to fall back down to mediocrity.
I recall people praising his heat maps this year- pointing at them as evidence he can/could play as a mid.
Pfft.
What a heat map doesn't show you is how it's like taking candy from a baby moving him off the ball.
It's like watching tiny little jack lonie 2 years ago.
He's not hopeless, but nowhere near worth paying what he'd cost.
He's not a mid (let alone an A grade class one as some have proclaimed him on here), nor is he a high possession winger... nor will he ever be either of those.
He doesn't fit any of our needs, and yet would cost us plenty of trade currency which would further restrict us getting a proper mid or high possie winger.
Hard pass.

I agree. Why waste time on Martin when we have our very own goat doing exactly the same thing?Anyone else catch jack martin at his whipping boy best yesterday?

Looks like Biggy had an okay game for the Rays too and is in the Vic Country squad.Voss also listed as 2nd best for Sandy. I think all the APS players were not playing and Sandy thrashed the Lions Academy, so it maybe was not the highest standard game but still encouraging...
Where has he mostly been playing this year?Looks like Biggy had an okay game for the Rays too and is in the Vic Country squad.
To help focus your thinking on what our targets should be in the trade/draft, I suggest you take the time to create your best team available for Round 1, 2021.
Here’s some rules:
Base it on current playing list only and the exhibited form displayed by that list.
Add in the three first round picks (King, Clark and Coffield) on the reasonable assumption that they all have the talent to capture a best 22 slot.
With those three exceptions, do not project development on to the other players.
Discount players unlikely to be best 22 due to age, injury or exhibited performance to date
You will end up with a reasonably well structured team and one with a likelihood of playing finals.
Without the benefit of a further two years of trade/draft...
But you will also end up with a team with one glaring weakness that stops us being a finals threat.
Up to Satan, Moneybags and Libba to fix that.
Not a top 10 pickWriting Bytel off?
What you hoping to get for each oneI'm shopping Acres, Ross and Dunstan at year's end...
1 x second for Ross. Thirds for the other two. What you hoping to get for each one
Don't think anyone will accuse you of being smart with those evaluations.1 x second for Ross. Thirds for the other two.
And I'm not being smart either.
No your not1 x second for Ross. Thirds for the other two.
And I'm not being smart either.

I thought you were suppose to buy low and sell high , not the other way around1 x second for Ross. Thirds for the other two.
And I'm not being smart either.

Given up on footy working on your fishing ?1 x second for Ross. Thirds for the other two.
And I'm not being smart either.
Not quite.Given up on footy working on your fishing ?
I might not dump shit on players on here but I can assure you I'm difficult to please...I thought you were suppose to buy low and sell high , not the other way around![]()
Agree but don’t think Ross will be the one that the club looks at moving on also don’t think we will get anything for DunstanNot quite.
Once again injuries have forced our hand so these guys, including Sinclair will most likely get the whole year to obtain consistency.
If they do then great. The big obvious on Saturday was once again the lack of leadership in the middle and someone to grab the game by the scruff when it mattered most.
We need Two more A grade or elite mids. And if trading any of the above achieves it, then I'm open to the idea.
