Good effort but feels like we get smashed in clearances most weeks. Got plenty of faith in what we've got but we know we can get better.
We seem to score really heavily rebounding off the back half, so it's not the worst thing.

We pulled it sustainably back in 2009, but I wouldn't hang my hat on it.

Centre clearances yes, but around the ground we do OK.

People (including me) said the exact same thing about Mitch Robinson and Dustin Martin, but look at them now. People change over time with a new start or club. You can't judge a book by it's cover.
Martin is still a flog.

Until he moves to the Lions.
If he played for us I think I could overlook his shortcomings.
Nothing surer, I'm always amazed how people can make such harsh judgments on players who in 99.999% of cases they would never have met, you can't go by media persona, it is way too shallow.

I would guarantee that if you got to know players that you would be of the opinion that they were decent people in the vast majority of cases, people like to have villains.

We'd even start thinking about Jerermy Cameron as a decent chap if he was a Lion ... I think ...

Looking at it from the other angle, there's probably supporter bases than don't consider Jonno Brown a legend because of his suspensions.

Based on some of the comments on the Dog's board pre-match about Robbo, they have him close to flog status too.

We get beaten pretty consistently in uncontested possessions and usually by some margin. But for our opponent's inaccuracy both the Hawthorn and Dogs resuts would have been a lot closer. Our efficiency has been the difference. We need to possess the ball more than we currently do and for that we need some outside runners with good skills. They grow on trees don't they?

Not sure I agree. We had more efficient kicks today. We hang onto the footy and create turnovers quite well.

Feelings aren’t reality, we lost the clearances to Port and won by 48 yet won the clearances against Essendon but lost by 57.

Clearances can be an overrated stats, Carlton and Gold Coast are 3rd and 6th for clearances across the season.

Age list wise we are still one of the younger teams in the competition and with a less than strong draft this is the year to trade. I’m not of the opinion to just throw money at whoever but definitely at players who would make our team better. Conole stated on ‘The Road to the Draft’ that the focus will be on mid types as they can be taught to play other areas. It’s amazing that we can actually go to players now and ‘sell’ them our vision up here. Swan has said that there is significant cap space and players have come to us so this off-season will be very interesting to see what we do.

Rumor on SEN Joey Daniher has interest in going to Sydney and getting out of the Victorian bubble surely we would be a better fit top 4 team close to a premiership
He's a great player when he's on although his kicking can be a little suspect. Is on close to $1M a season so would eat up a lot of the salary cap and carrying an injury cloud. I'm much happier with Hippy & McStay and go after other positions

Agree, I'd rather throw that sort of money at an established elite midfielder/winger if we wanted to go down that path eg. Lachie Whitfield/Stephen Coniglio/Marcus Bontmpelli/Zac Williams/Brad Hill/Josh Kelly.

100%. We also have to have an eye on the future too, the way he's tracking McCluggage could fit in that bracket too

And I would LOVE Eddie up here! He's obviously close with Robbo too and would have a wealth of knowledge to teach our forwards. If we could bring him over in a Hodge style deal to move into a coaching role I would be completely on board
