Maybe, If he wants to go back to Victoria I'd be interested in these players who are listed as OOC on footywire- Brayden Sier, Tom Phillips, Darcy Parish.

Footywire isn't bad for getting a rough idea of who is OOC but it really isn't reliable without looking at other sources.

It's particularly bad at getting the contract term for newly traded players right - for all of last year it thought Charlie Cameron had been traded to us and signed a 1 year contract so it had him as OOC.

Agreed. The Cameron case is a funny one - the length of his contract was never reported when he joined us. The only place it was released was here on BigFooty after a query to Lions_Insider in order to ensure the accuracy of our own Roster Watch thread. Obviously Footywire just made a (really bad) assumption.

It’s done the same things with others too - pretty sure Nic Newman is listed as OOC this year even though he was just traded to Carlton lol.

With Hodge and Lachie loving the lifestyle up here and the less media scrutiny that goes with it ,the club should take the opportunity to market ourselves off the back of that to try to land another marquee player to whom that might be appealing.

Work out what we really need first and then tick off whoever might be available . These days you've just got to keep bolstering your M/F depth . Zorks and Robbo won't be around forever. A 22 /3 year old potential gun . Anyone likely ?

The already mentioned SPS who was/is a Lions supporter.

I'd consider Walsh but seems he may be the loyal type

I remember when we were trying to get Marc Murphy but his dad got in the way . So many issues family wise that we have to deal with that Melbourne clubs have no idea about

The Melbourne clubs are well aware. They actively do their best to exploit it.

IIRC Petrevski-Seton made it known pre draft that he wanted to play in Melbourne.
Not exactly - his phrasing was along the lines that he'd like to play in Melbourne. That's a lot less stronger - plus he has played in Melbourne now. He knows what it's like and might want a change. :D

That's not entirely correct. I posted a link in John Murphy's Roster Watch Thread about 6 weeks where he spoke about Marc's decision to not join Brisbane. Worth a listen.

I keep tossing back and forth from draft focus to trade focus for this upcoming off-season. Look if a Coniglio or another Neale was to fall in our lap then sign me up. I would also if somehow a young up and coming mid like Jacob Hopper or even next year a Jye Caldwell. I’m also hopeful that we have that on our list, having a healthy list and performing 22 is that last years draftees bar Answerth can develop away and come in like Hinge and show that they don’t stand out of place. As noted Robbo and Zorko have another 2/3 yrs maybe more for Zorko but the midfield depth needs to be continued whilst also filling some other holes on our list. Just don’t sell the farm in a trade and I’ll be happy.

I think we have shown the last few years we aren't willing to sell the farm for one person. Or one pick for that matter if we want better draft picks. I'm with you though, wouldn't say no to a quality player coming in, but just as happy to go to the draft.

I think “selling the farm” ultimately depends on your perspective though. That’s what a lot of supporters essentially thought we did last year in the trade period but it seems to be working out ok.

West Coast aren't going to sell Cameron for peanuts, I see them asking for Starcevich for Cameron and a pick. And I wouldn't take that.

developing nicely...

I wonder if we'll make inquiries about Jarrod Cameron, we are obviously interested in him seeing we bid on him in the draft, with Willie Rioli, Liam Ryan, Jamie Cripps and Jack Pettruccelle in front of him in his position he may be in for a long wait to get his chance.

If we decide to move Tom Cutler on (which I don't want to do) he could be involved in the trade???? eg. Tom Cutler for Jarrod Cameron and a 2nd round selection??

Think that’s overvaluing what other clubs would be prepared to trade.
