Genuinely surprised if the Pies are legitimately low balling Grundie and Elliot.
If Cam gets his diet under control in the off season and does some work before pre-season starts, (which he is) his fitness will be significantly better and I believe will allow him to play more midfield time in season 2020. He's gotta come back at the start of 2020 in reasonably good shape. Exciting prospect to see him creating havoc in the midfield next season. Not convinced Rayner will spend significant time in the midfield, has a long way to go to build the needed fitness base.

I don't think they are low-balling Grundy - its been reported as a length of extension issue more than anything. But with De Goey, Grundy and Moore all out of contract at the end of next year its not surprising Elliot could fall out given that they must be tight to the cap already.
This hurts to say but if we managed to snag Elliot I wouldn’t be against Jenkins as a stay at home forward. Elliot/Cameron/McStay/Hipwood all lead up forwards (McStay 50/50).
Linc blew up and ran out of puff...first full season ever I think and 24 consecutive games to boot...As much as I enjoyed Linc's year, I don't know that he finished the year so well that he's a lock for round 1 next year. All things being equal, I personally believe he should be selected but his form really tailed off late - only 1 goal in his last 7 games and only one game with 20 touches or more in the same period. Further to that, Rayner also shouldn't be considered a lock for next year until he shows he's built some consistency in his game. Again, I really hope that he does secure his spot.
I guess I just think it is premature to be thinking that either of those guys will definitely be there round 1, particularly if we bring in new talent like Elliott, Ah Chee, Ellis-Yolmen etc. The whole idea is to increase pressure for spots. IMO, our forward line locks are Cameron, Hipwood and McStay, in that order. The other four roles in the rotation are up in the air IMO.

Paperwork has just been lodged for ‘an’ Ellis.I thought we would have heard of Cam Ellis-Yolmen signing with us by now.
Yeah but...what a goal it was!only 1 goal in his last 7 games
Can't see him coming up here for 500k...surely others offering more!We off all teams should know how dangerous a fleet of small forwards can be. He is a lead up small / medium, we don't have anyone like him on the list (Bundy being the closest). I think it's the answer they are looking at to the (perceived) forward line problem. Instead of getting another tall, get a small medium, stay at home, who can play tall. Makes sense.
I wouldn't want him on big money, but if he is free and on about $400-500kk over 3-4 i'd be keen as mustard.
Well if he's like most of the players these days he's looking for security, i.e. 4yrs at reasonable money vs 3Can't see him coming up here for 500k...surely others offering more!
We’ll possibly have depth, they’ll just be first year draftees, in Keidean Coleman and Noah Cumberland.I dont think he is gone, outside bundy and elliot we dont have any real depth in the sm fwd area. A great move to strengthen this position. Letting bundy go and getting elliot just feels like an even stevens move, neither improving or weakening the list. Having both gives us depth and versatility.
He made an enormous improvement in his fitness in the 2nd half of the year. Hopefully he comes back to preseason in good shape and has a big preseason improving his running capacity.
