Great to see they’re pursuing th strategy of ruining any chance for Broomhead to get back by plonking him in the forward line.

Brown, Crocker, Get runs in the midfield and rack up the ball and get call ups. But no, Broomhead has to die in death corner.

No Lynch? Young Tohill will get a bath in the ruck. Geez they are not that kid any favours playing him CHF and now leading ruck.

Should've bought in L Howe to ruck... unless he's injured?
I am not arguing the Howe inclusion but Tohill has shown nothing and I have watched him live a few times.

Put him in the guts this week and let’s see what he has got.........winning the tap outs is irrelevant.......what he does around the ground is more important IMO.
Tohill was forced to ruck for most of the R6 game against Sandringham after Lynch got concussed early. Battled hard, but was well beaten (6k, 6h, 1m, 3t, 4ho). 12 disposal is double his next best haul though, so it certainly puts Tohill in a position to get involved in the match.

That made no Difference at AFL Level

Thanks for those stats.......IMO he needs to be “forced” to go to where the ball is.

He looks like a deer in the headlights every time I have seen him play lately.

I dunno. From what I've seem of him he doesn't have the same run and pace he had pre leg break. I don't think he is good for too many midfield minutes. But he still has an ability to kick a goal.

Lynch is a big out, what's his issue?

Good to see Adams is right to play what you'd assume is limited game time. Should mean he's much better prepared to return next week.

Who traveled with the senior team as an emergency?

Tyler travelled.

Lynch hurt his shoulder last week. Hopefully just out for this one week.

Hasn't he played most of the season? Wouldn't your fitness improve by then.

In any case, I'd expect 10 minute bursts in the centre square (as De Goey has in the seniors).

Considering Adams and Scharenberg are playing VFL, and l gather Shaz didn't make the trip West, because of the playing surface at Optus and travel? Can't really believe he would be dropped on form, he was one shining light against the Hawks!!
Club may have the opinion if we win tonight it's a bonus, but if we lose it's to plan, as we have are sights on resetting our season against GWS. Against the Giants next week we should see Adams, Howe, Scharenberg all back, l am presuming.
I am looking forward more to watching the VFL boys this weekend, as the AFL boys look to be headed for a ugly night in Perth.

The VFL team looks strong for the first time in ages though, doesn't it.

Adams and Wills in the centre -- that's some clearance beastage.

Shaz and Ox back. Some nice interceptions.

Daicos and Brown on the wings....

Taylor Adams and Matthew Scharenberg.......my head hurts Dave.

I daresay Adams will be on limited minutes. I don't mind it. Plus he tends to be rusty as all hell when he returns. Needs a decent block of footy to get his skills and decision making right.

With Shaz, I do think we've been top heavy in defence all year. We went from Goldsack and Howe playing key positions to having Roughhead, Moore and Howe/Shaz all as aerial specialists. Our defence have defended magnificently, particularly in the air, but have offered nothing in the other direction. I'm liking the balance more, even though it's going to be a big ask to have Noble and Quaynor beside each other.

I'd be shocked to see them both come back. To me, we've gone for a change in the balance of our defence to try to get some more movement happening out of the back half.

Top heavy? Really?

Strange observation especially coming up against a tall forward line like WCE.

It would be nice for a change to get the ball out of defence beyond the halfway point of the ground.

Or, the fact that WC have 3 small, very quick forwards

Sorry, but the balance of our defence this week is terrible. We’re going in against a very tall forward line with only two players above 190cm. I can accept if they don’t want Scharenberg to travel and play on a hard ground at this stage of his recovery, but I cant accept at all that he was omitted for balance reasons when we had all of Moore, Roughead, Howe and Langdon playing together successfully earlier in the year.

How many forwards do West Coast have that are over 190cms though?

edit: Apart from Kennedy, they have Darling and Allen at 191cms.

They are not a tall forward team. Darling and Allen are good overhead I grant you, but they are also pretty mobile.

Crisp is 190cm and if needed there is Mayne 188cm and even Myochek at 192cm.
