Doesn't get any easier this week with the Tigers taking on last years premiers Hawthorn who have had an up and down season. Beeson and Dillon have been giving Hawks plenty of drive through the midfield and are ones we need to watch. They have experienced smart forwards in McWilliams and Perkins who can take advantage of any midfield dominance. Our midfield was badly beaten last week so they really need to step up as a collective for us to have any chance against a good side. Edmond's inclusion should see us get first use of the ball but she won't have it all her own way against Louise Wotton who has done well in the ruck for the Hawks this year. We are missing our top 3 goal kickers in Stahl, Colwell and Brennan so we need some scores from Frederick, Wakefield and Bailey. Seymour has a great leap and sure hands so a role as a forward this week could be very possible.

Would feel more comfortable if we had Brennan and Conti in the middle at the first bounce (naturally) but we don't so lets just go with Tigers by a point. ;)

Good luck girls.

Both VFLW and VFL will be live streamed. I'll try and post links when they are available.

Great write up as usual
TigermanM2
Keep up the great work, Tigers by a point

Thanks for the write up TigermanM2.
100% agree we need to win the ball outta the centre more and hopefully a drier ball and game gets Fredricks a few more marks.
She led up to the ball well last week and kept trying so hopefully clunking one or two early will help get the confidence up and get her feeling like she’s ‘On’.
I’m hoping a few took the score personally last week and come out looking to make an impact.
I know the Draft’s coming but there’s still a chance for a couple to get upgraded to AFLW.
Go Tiges!!
Tiges by less than a kick

100% agree there is a massive opportunity for the girls to get on an AFLW list. The reality is that with the U18 skill level going through the roof and the impact of first year draftees like Prespakis and Morrison most clubs will use their draft picks on youngsters so unless our players get on our list (we can pick another 4 main list + rookie spots pre draft from our VFLW) it’s going to be incredibly hard to make another AFLW list. I’m not sure we will use any rookie spots pre draft for VFLW players even though we can.

This is where it’s vital that players like Campbell, Seymour and co make the most of a ripper season so far and keep pushing as bodies become wearier and niggles pop up. This is what coaches love to see and given we are treating our VFLW as development for our AFLW it’s just as important as wins.

Made it for a bit of the last quarter and seemed to have the better of the quarter just getting it from forwrd of centre into scoring opportunities is a challenge and not sure if it’s because we were trying to be more attacking but they got it out the back a couple of times.
Good ground...crap for parking if your late

Ouch. Tough loss. McWilliams is a very under-rated player and you only have to see the effect on GWS's fortunes after she moved to Geelong to see how good she is. Injury hampered her a bit in Geelong's first AFLW season but clearly she is back to her best.

Melbourne Tigers have finished their season so we should get Monique Conti back at some stage.

Its now down to the business end of the season. Even though we have lost 3 in a row I don't think, last week aside, we are playing all that badly. A few key ins and we could be back to our winning ways very soon. We would be favourites for two of the remaining games with the Dogs 50/50, so lets say we finish on 36 pts assuming we beat Dogs.

Collingwood, Williamstown, Carlton, Western Bulldogs, Southern Saints to finish our season. That's three of the top four on the current ladder. We still have a game up our sleeve due to our two byes while the other top 6 teams have only had one bye.

Hawks have bye, Melb Uni, Casey, Saints and Pies so a tougher finish than us. I can see them finishing on 26 or 30 pts.

Dogs have an easier draw NT, bye, Ess, Rich and Darebiin, but have poor %. May finish on 36pnts.

Melb Uni have Carl, Haw, Geel, bye, NT and it wouldn't surprise if they won them all and finish on 36 pts with a very healthy %.

Final positions could be:

Collingwood
Southern Saints
Melbourne Uni
Richmond
Western Bulldogs.

For us to finish 3rd and earn a double chance we may need to beat Willy and Carlton (which we should), beat Bulldogs and spring a surprise win against either Collingwood or Saints. If Melb Uni slip up it makes our job a little easier
