I reckon Robertson is the money ball player. The numbers don’t lie. He is a monster racking up large numbers. His work rate is very high and his team wins games off of his effort.

Rowell, Kemp, Young, Green and Gould all appear very physically developed and body ready for AFL. Rivers weight is interesting, does not look that heavy 85 kg and 188cm.

Who are your 3 or 4 picks if you could get them Joao, mindful that the obvious will be gone by our first?
I liken Robertson to Priddis , he just keeps getting the job done.. has improved his fitness to get to more contests.. shows dedication.
His hurt factor is lower but if you get your hands on the Pill that much you are in a position to make things happen
Rivers just delivers, smooth mover, clean by hand and by foot.
He is the mailman of this draft.
His decision making in a tight contest is exquisite... doesn’t often make a bad choice.

If Brisbane and GWS don't trade any of their first round picks, and presuming we may have another within 5-10 for Hill, it may be difficult for us to work 3 or 4 picks inside 20. Suspect by the time trades are done we may have an early pick for Henry then later picks.

I guess even to get one of Rivers Robertson or Sharp to go with Henry we should be happy along with some trades coming in of quality.

Rivers is definitely by first choice for 15+ if we wrangle a pick somewhere after Henry bidding. Smart footballer who we could clearly use more of
Yeah I watched him quite closely live...thought he was great, works hard and while his disposal might not be Harley Bennell-like, it's reasonable and he makes up for it with good decision making.
His disposal is better and he always chooses the right options

Ah the 2018 U18 All Australia team: 5 of the 22 were drafted by Freo and as of this weekend 3 are life members. With the benefit of hindsight it should be 4. (All eligible for father son at least.)
A question for the avid draft watchers:
Given the supposed eveness of this year's draft crop, the possible exits of Brad Hill & Ed Langdon, and our lack of quality depth beyond the best 22-25 players, should we look to accumulate as many top 10 picks as we can before a Henry bid, or do we focus on trading one or more top 10 picks for multiple mid to late first/early second rounders?
This is also based on the assumption that Tim Kelly isn't coming to Freo.
I think we need to focus on strengthening the quality of the bottom half of the list this year. Assuming that Freo has the list spots open, we should consider trading down so that we have one likely pick before a Henry bid, then 2-3 additional selections within the first two rounds.

While some of my favourites are at the very start of the draft (Robertson, Rivers, Jackson, Taylor, O'Neil and Day) there's a few in the mid rounds I would hope to pick up later on such as Malcolm Rosas Jr (Small Forward from NT), Riley Garcia (Local inside mid), Jack Mahony (Plays as a forward and a mid, from victoria). These guys will go around the 20-40 range but I doubt we have a pick there considering the Henry bid.
I do rate a lot of talent coming in the very back end (Harley Sparks, Jake Pasini, Angus Hanrahan, Mitch Mellis) but a lot of picks in the top 40 will produce us a lot of gold.

So you would trade Top 20 picks to down grade for more picks in the 40’s ..
Are you a gambler per say, how is your record at the Casino.. maybe even try the one armed bandits.
The context is Henry.
The maximum value for Henry is have picks in the 40’s.
We can trade our pick 25 to the Dogs for picks 42,44,45.
If Henry slides, we may have pick 45 to use on a WA talent.
Rivers reminds me of Sean Darcy in build, looks like he is carrying some puppy fat. Lose that and add the muscle,
speed will increase.
Listening to SEN this morning, Cripps said he had baby fat at first and turned that into muscle.
Fyfe is the same height but was 75kg when drafted, what I like about Rivers, Ruscoe is that they have played
in several positions for EF.
So not just pigeon holed as defenders, we need some players that can push their weight around.
What is frustrating this year is that the points used on Henry will rob us a chance of getting a WA talent like Taylor, Sharpe, Jackson, Ruscoe and Rivers.
