There's a conspiracy theory doing the rounds that Newcastle want to be relegated to make it easier for a sale to take place.

I've seen zero evidence that this theory has legs, other than team selections which do seem tank-ish.

I have made a decision not to watch a game online or in person or at a pub involving: Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Man City. (whether it be Champions League, premier league, friendly whatever) from here on in. The game has been dominated by greed of the owners and I hate to say this but it seems to me at the Real Madrid president mentioned that soccer is losing interest of the 18-24 year old age bracket. There is talk of shortening matches to appeal to the younger generation. From a betting perspective, tennis/cricket are sports with more money betting on it.

The way they have treated their domestic league this current week is a shambles. If you take the fans out of the game, it hurts them in the pocket. The Premier League reputation has been burnt and it may take years or decades from them to recover from this.
