Didn't realise this thread existed - it's good to see a healthy thread about the lower leagues. I follow both Peterborough and Watford due to having lived in both places. Watford looking good for a rebound promotion, while Peterborough are in a real fight. With League 1, one of Hull, Sunderland and Peterborough are going to be unlucky not to secure automatic promotion. Last night, heading into the 80th minute, Hull, Sunderland and Peterborough were all drawing and all found ways to win. Going to be a great end to the season.
A fellow Horn, next up Reading and then the Scum. If we can get 4 points out of those two I reckon we might be in with a shout of going up automatically

League Two has been interesting this season, every team has already lost at least 10 games and there are still between 6 and 8 to go. The last time a fourth tier season finished with every team losing 10 or more games was back in 1998/99.

Another interesting thing is the number of teams with almost 50% of their games ending in draws, Walsall, Mansfield, Colchester, and Stevenage have all played in 17+ draws. It is such an even season and its reflected in the goal differences with most teams in single digits which is the opposite of whats normal. In most seasons there are generally 7-10 teams with a goal difference greater than 10, or worse than -10. Results in the last month may change this and it may look a little more normal by the end of the season, but to date it has been a fascinating season.

Now if only Carlisle can win enough games to make it into the playoffs and Barrow can win another one or two games (but not this weekend) to stay up.

5 games to go, 8 points over Sunderland with them still to play which potentially makes the gap 11. We play Fleetwood first so if we win that and beat Sunderland we're practically up. I think we're mathematically up if Sunderland drop points when we play Fleetwood.

A win over Harrogate lifts Bolton back into the auto promotion places. Six games to go and the ball’s in our court. The poor form of other leading sides continues with Cambridge, Morecambe & Forest Green all losing and Tranmere & Newport drawing.
We’ve only lost once in the past 15 and just need that run to go the distance.
Tricky game away to Salford coming up mid week. Fingers crossed.

Grimsby striker headbutts own teammate at HT. Gets a red and now calls to rip up his contract

Wimbledon finally got another win 5-1 against Accrington (of course the first game I couldn't watch in months) and we're out of relegation for this week at least. Ipswich have too much to play for to expect much next Saturday but there are 7 more chances to scrape enough points to stay in League One.

MASSIVE game tonight in League Two for the Cumbrians away to Newport County who are 3pts ahead and in the final playoff spot. If our fellow Cumbrians and Bolton could pull off wins tonight, we could potentially be in playoff spots. Not a bad fightback for a team who lost eight games in a row after not playing for a month.

Massive win overnight. Bolton win away at Salford, something no side had done all season. We’ve opened up a 4 point gap inside the auto promotion places.
Next, it’s another away game again, this time to a desperate last placed Grimsby. 5 games left, 4 points clear...
COYW.

Almost missed that the Dons game was last night not Saturday, didn't make it till 1:30am to watch but 3-0 against Ipswich 😁 Bring on Swindon on Saturday.

Yep, Bolton and Barrow did the right thing this morning and won, but Carlisle could only draw 0-0 against Newport. Had the better of the game and probably should have scored at least once, but unfortunately couldn't get it done. Still three points outside the playoff spots and this weekend are home to the leagues form team Port Vale who have won their last six.

BIG derby game coming up for the Horns, gap closing in the Championship for the second automatic place. Watford need to beat the Scum, to maintain their charge

Bottom of the table Swindon (could still avoid relegation themselves and so plenty to play for) at home, surely we can make it three wins in a row :grimacing:.

I didn't watch the two wins this last week but have watched months of draws and loses before that and so I feel almost guilty that I'll be tuning in tonight.

Big upset happening in L2, bottom placed Grimsby beating top 3 Bolton 1-0 with about 10 minutes to go.
Played off the park by the bottom side. It’s gonna happen at this time of year. They were desperate for points and did themselves proud. No excuses from us, but what a shambolic effort. Still up in the auto promotion spots, but clinging on by our finger nails now. The 4 point gap now reduced to only 1.
Four games left.
