Brentford will only be promoted if they reach the automatic promotion spots. Aren't good at play-offs.
Sheffield United will be fighting for a champions league spot.
Spurs will be fighting to survive (and will do just)
Will see someone new hold up the trophy
Man city will get a Europa league place.

Man City ****
I can see it being more of the same for us.

Some great wins but too many disappointing "one of those days" type losses to do anything in the league.

We'll have some new players and hopefully address a few weaknesses but with such a short turnaround it'll be hard to just switch that champions mentality back on.

On a more general note I hope to see a much, much better version of VAR this season. I can see people walking away from the game if its more of the clusterfu** we got last season.

And I hope the return of supporters is managed well, and fairly with a priority on peoples safety.

Do what you want it's not a huge issue, but if you're in a good mood, editing your old predictions instead of making a new post will be appreciated. Or if you want to make a new post, go back and edit your old one to say "void" or something.

Everton above us SM wow!
I seriously have no clue. There's teams that'll definitely do well (Pool, United, City, Chelsea) teams that SHOULD do well (Spurs, Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester, Everton), there's teams that could finish around mid-table (West Ham, Soton, Burnley, Sheff Utd), teams that should push clear of the relegation fight (Newcastle, Brighton, Villa, Palace), and teams definitely involved in the relegation scrap (WBA, Fulham, Leeds) but within those bubbles, and even each end of those bubbles, predicting where teams will finish is almost as impossible this season as its ever been.

Premier League:

1. Manchester City

They have the deepest squad, will be hungry after being thrashed in the league in the previous year. De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero and Guardiola are all still in the top few of their respective positions in the league. That class will shine through on a consistent basis, and with a full season of Laporte they should be far better defensively.

2. Liverpool

Two years of such high performance is likely going to be followed by a slight fall. I don’t see Liverpool getting to 90 points this year, and I think that’s what will be needed to win the league. There were a fair few cracks in the second half of the season pre and post covid and I think we might seethem exposed more regularly throughout the season.

3. Manchester United

They are clearly on a positive trajectory and seem to have found a game style and rhythm with their squad. Have had a lot of time under OLS now and that continuity should see them continue to improve (whereas Chelsea will have so many new players). However, I doubt they challenge for the title for two main reasons - first, Solskjaer isn’t a good enough manager to help them win at the level required to reach 90+ points and second, the squad is still quite thin. Any injuries and they’re in trouble.

4. Chelsea

Obviously very talented squad, but I think it will take time for their new players to bed in and adjust to both the new team/system and the new league. Hard to see a team with so many new players in the first XI (Werner, Ziyech, Silva, Havertz, etc.) to be consistent enough to challenge for the league. I certainly don’t think a team with Lampard as manager can do it, considering his seeming inability to organise a defence.

5. Arsenal
6. Wolverhampton Wanderers
7. Tottenham
8. Leicester City

So weird to see a thread like this and a lot of people putting Liverpool 1st.

I'm used to these thread over the years with Liverpool in 6th or 7th.

I'll do my predictions closer to the kick off of Matchday 1.
