Here's an official thread for everyone to discuss the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season which has already started!

Location of teams in 2020–21 Ligue 1

Amiens & Toulouse had taken Ligue 1 to court in order to appeal their relegation with planning for a 22 team league happening in the early stages. This was overturned by a vote by the LFP with them both relegated.

Lorient & Lens replace them as promoted teams.

My prediction for the season:

1. PSG
2. Marseille
3. Lyon (depending on player sales)
4. Rennes
5. Monaco
6. Nice
7. Montpellier
8. Angers
9. Strasbourg
10. Bordeaux
11. Nantes
12. Reims
13. Nanets
14. Brest
15. Lens
16. Metz
17. St Etienne
18. Dijon
19. Nimes
20. Lorient

Cup winner: Strasbourg
Top Scorer: Mbappe

Can't see anyone getting near PSG, they have far too much money for any clubs to compete with them in Ligue 1.

Interesting the French chose not to resume their season but now virtually only league to allow fans into the ground despite having over 4,000 infections a day, crowd of 5,000 for current Monaco game

Marseille games postponed due covid outbreak:

PSG/Lyon games also postponed due to CL runs for both clubs.

League Cup has been scrapped in France which should help with fixture congestion (this was already happening before covid)

Not sure what is going to happen with the Marseille fixture. PSG area already behind in fixtures, would cause huge issues to postpone the Marseille game.

Pretty silly of Neymar & co to party it up in Ibiza. That's just asking to capture covid.

5 players sent off bloody hell and accusations of racism. Will be an investigation into this game for sure.

Massive bad blood between PSG & Marseille.

Also Gonzalez has claimed Di Maria spat on him during the match. To complicate things further Neymar had an altercation with Gonzalez when he was at Barca.

Theyre all a bunch of twats.

First time in 25 years PSG have lost first two games. 10 were out for first game and all those who returned for the Marseille game hadnt trained in 2 weeks aftee returning from Covid.

4000 fans allowed at the game.
