I sincerely doubt Rupert Murdoch personally has anything to do with the content of Australian newspapers.

been reported for years that Rupert gives strong editorial guidelines to his global team

remember not long ago they used to have annual get togethers on an island somewhere each year, where the rupert marching orders were basically laid out

I see the bogan NSW idiot V'Landys had another swipe at the AFL for daring to play the GF in Brisbane!

A little bit worried are we Peter?Lets see how the GF ratings go this year?

At Round 16 each year.
What exactly is the makeup of this regional/metro % figure? Is it expressing total regional viewers as a percentage of the total metro viewers? If so, that's a staggering amount of regional people watching the NRL, and it's growing where the AFL figure is declining. But since the metro population has been growing faster than the regional population, the NRL must really be declining in market share in the cities.

Think there were some earlier ones with 200-300 also at metricon (when part of a doubleheader and no tickets sold)

Yeah this is correct. There were alot of games early that were shutouts and had about 250-350. Definitely has been at least one shutout when there is 2 games at metricon.

Yep apart from the 4 main news services the AFL was the highest rating on FTA. NRL #16

Big AFL game but also 1st versus 3rd and western sydney derby i the NRL. NRL does well to get into the top 20 on metro fta now

Last night's game (Rich V Cats) the crowd seemed a lot bigger, normally when viewing Metricon games on TV it seems only one side of the stand is open but last night it looked like all stands around the ground were open, For those who attended can perhaps shed some more light on this.

Presumably they sold more tickets last night because it was a bigger game

This game on now looks like a members only affair!

to be fair this is mostly because it doesnt include GEM it its NRL metro ratings

Really? Even a big game like last night (where they did include GEM), Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide contributed 26K

Surely it is the exception rather than the rule that GEM numbers are difference between top 20 or not?

Ticketmaster site is glitching which is making it impossible to buy tickets for St Kilda v GWS

Also North Melbourne v West Coast isn't even on ticketek, sounds like that game is strictly members only, ballot or closed doors.

All the stands around the stadium were open. Had to sit in your group with marshalls ensuring you were socially distant
