When you finish mid table consistently you become the old punter down the TAB always trying to land a $15 plus roughie. It can happen but it is far less likely and chances are you'll do your dough.

That strikes this old punter a little close to the bone.

O’Driscoll couldn’t be in the conversation with Phillips, Hollands or Campbell. Looking forwards to seeing Bruhn.

Ugle-Hagan. From the hype, clearly not his best day.
Has all the elite traits we’re chasing and our club is screaming out for an Irish ranga..

The importance in getting the draft right. A big contributor to why we are in the position we are currently in lies below..View attachment 913680View attachment 913681View attachment 913682View attachment 913683
Some moons ago I remember looking at who was taken in between our pick according to finishing position and the actual pick given in the compromised drafts years.... Made me sad.

I don't think we played that period of time smart enough.

Also, unlike any time in the clubs history we should be planning for a couple of years at the bottom (wish we did that after 2017, missing out on the super draft of 2018). 2 high picks is a good start, but what is next years draft looking like? Do we go a tall this year to go with an elite mid becuase next year the talks aren’t as good?

As mentioned, back in the prime spot to pick up Phillips @ 2 now. At least that's a positive from our disgusting effort tonight...

Pykie what are your thoughts on Thilthorpe in terms of being worthy of going number 1?

Seems to be a lot of talk about Adelaide taking him with the first pick, but that him being a South Australian is a factor in that. Rarely seems that clubs take that into account with top picks however.

From what I've seen on here, seems Ugle-Hagan, Phillips, Hollands, DGB and possibly Campbell would be about the top 5, and Thilthorpe would come in the group after that.

Interested in your thoughts on him, because it would be great for us if Adelaide did take him, potentially leaving us with two of Phillips, Hollands or DGB (depending on what picks we end up with obviously), which would be a great outcome.

And really can't see us talking two from the draft... particularly after last night we need to take action and improve now not in two years or so when the draft years kick in...
