Im hearing you have interest in two essendon nga kids Cody Brand and Josh Eyre with your second round pick to replace some old players. There's also a handful of teams like the dees, roos, port, hawks, freo and us tigers that are into cody and josh who most have second round picks before essendons pick 44.
Good always a plus to mess up essendons plans

Very interesting that our strongest links from Twomney seem to be Hollands at 2, Perkins at 11 and Poulter at 30. That's basically 3x the same player. I wonder what mix we end up bringing in, or whether that is even a consideration for us with our first two picks.

I don’t reckon “type” will come into consideration at 2 or 11 unless you’re splitting hairs over a player.

I’m of the view, that our midfield has been a weakness for so long, why not go mids in both? It’s the most important area on the ground IMO.

We currently hold 3 First Round picks in the next 2 drafts (2x2020, 1x2021). At least 2 of those should be on midfielders IMO.

We are only 19 or so honourable losses away from Hollands, Horne, LDU and Simpkin in the same team.

I keep going back to Hollands' highlights, The left handed pick up (I assume he is right handed) at full pace is just soo ****ing ridiculous. The left handed contested 1 v 2 mark was stupid. The left foot goal from 60, the right foot set shot from inside the square at the 'G. The pure class of the kid and the fact he's such a powerhouse brute, the hunt and tackle on the wing, if he pulls that shit in game 1 on the members wing and then sizzles a 55m left foot missile off one step to a leading Larkey, i honestly think he could single-handedly alter the outside perception of our club onfield in his first contest.

That could be the most complete kicking display I've ever seen from a kid. Depth, Weight, Decision Making and on both sides of his body and his forward craft and goal sense is fantastic. He'd probably be our best and most complete player by end of 2022.

Could we be considering the opposite - keep pick 2 but offer 11 plus next years pick (say 2nd rounder) to move up the order to get Perkins? Maybe one of Essendon’s picks with the agreement that they don’t touch him?

3rd Rounder? Mid 40s
Rather keep a second rounder too

Please don’t fu** this up. I can’t go through another decade without winning a flag.
Seems like with pick 2 you cant really miss on the which talented player you pick, more that it could be ****ed up with their further development.

This Hollands character looks a total bust to me. Fat, slow and can't win his own ball. And that's before one even considers the underage girls and gambling....I can see him del

I see him delisted by 22 or maybe traded for a 4th rounder. Sure, he's got skills and will probably go on to become a suburban footy legend with the club paying his beer and smokes money before he retires and blows out to epic proportions. Each to their own I suppose.

Take out the underage girl reference and I thought you were writing my Bio!!

Yeah we’ve had 5 lopsided trades the last 2 years and won 3 of them. 2020 2nd + extras to hawfs for 30 was bad, but we got to use 30 in the * trade which was good. Bad Brown trade gave us the pick we used in the good Stephenson trade. And we made out like bandits in the Dees swap.

How did we make out like bandits with Dees swap.

They got pick 8.

We will have pick 14-15 once bids are in.

I have a feeling Scott Clayton really wants Archie Perkins so Mark Finnigan and Glen Luff would be tempted to use Pick 2 on him.

Is the following a realistic outcome if we in fact traded our Pick 2 for Pick 6 and Pick 7?

I'm assuming Essendon trades Pick 8 to Collingwood because Collingwood wants to have picks before any incoming bids for Reef McInnes. Collingwood is probably interested in draft bolter Conor Stone.

Adelaide: Logan McDonald
Essendon: Elijah Hollands
Sydney: Denver Grainger-Barras
Hawthorn: Will Phillips
Gold Coast: Zach Reid
North Melbourne: Riley Thilthorpe
North Melbourne: Archie Perkins
Collingwood: Conor Stone
Adelaide: Tom Powell
GWS: Heath Chapman
North Melbourne: Nikolas Cox

One KPF/Ruck: Riley Thilthorpe
One Forward/Inside Midfielder: Archie Perkins
One KPD/Utility: Nikolas Cox

Pick 30/39: Best available small forward.

Finlay Macrae/Tanner Bruhn/Oliver Henry/Bailey Laurie/Jack Carroll would still be available as alternative picks for Adelaide/GWS/North from Pick 9 to Pick 11.

Alternatively/Worst Case Scenario:

Adelaide: Logan McDonald
Essendon: Elijah Hollands
Sydney: Denver Grainger-Barras
Hawthorn: Will Phillips
Gold Coast: Riley Thilthorpe
North Melbourne: Archie Perkins
North Melbourne: Nikolas Cox
Collingwood: Conor Stone
Adelaide: Tom Powell
GWS: Zach Reid
North Melbourne: Heath Chapman/Finlay Macrae/Tanner Bruhn/Oliver Henry/Bailey Laurie/Jack Carroll

I like that if Thilthorpe is still there. Wouldn't be happy if not.

If that happened and we got perkins/cox or tall at 6-7 I'd go for Jake bowey at pick 11.
Its a reach but he's too good to give up and wont be there at 30.
If we're really cheeky we could even make a bid for western; his stats are still pretty good.

So I have read a fair bit of this thread and I can see that there is a fair bit of consensus developing. The BF faithful has narrowed the choice for pick 2 down to:
Hollands
McDonald
Thilthorpe
Phillips
Grainger-Barras
Perkins

Have I missed anyone?

Who said recruiting was hard? Stern look.
