With LDU (21) & Jy (22) building, we have an opportunity to add the the best U18 midfielder in the country to that mix to sure up our midfield with 3 high talents for the next decade.

Within the club 4 walls they would have a pretty good idea who they see as the best mid (Phillips, Hollands, Odriscoll, Bruhn etc) so I'm not going to speculate who that would be. But addressing the midfield with 3 high quality youngsters can really set us up moving forward.

Okay. Skills are off the charts. One touch, deft passes & perfect 25 meter left handed handballs.

His "weighting" of the ball in disposal is outstanding.

Is this kid right footed & left handed?! Christ, what a skill set.

I don'think we could hesitate taking the punt on him at #2... The upside is bigger then anyone else I've seen this draft (bar JUH).

We can be safe with the Dees pick.

Both, Right.

Most definitely looking really positive.... intriguing to know what is preferred. Phillips clearly going to be a good solid safe footballer.... Hollands looks to have more strings to be a star... in that video his hands were so clean and perfect kick off both sides. I just feel you have to grab the X factor with that early pick as the safe solid ones you can get later in the top ten...if Phillips isn't there by 8,9,10 there will be others, plenty names thrown around, who will and while may be a slight step down still should be pretty serviceable.... anyway as you say I'm not within those four walls so my opinion purely an opinion!

Interested in your thoughts? As obviously an avid fan of Phillips. Have you not seen too much of Hollands previously? Does this change your opinion? Or happy we go Phillips and Hollands might be still there given the uncertainty of injury etc

Both, Right.

He's as ambidextrious as any kid that I have had a quick look at. IMO, I reckon he was just piss farting about in a few of those clips too. I didn't see much in the way of defensive pressure, so I'll leave that to one side.

He's not "burst" quick, but when you have such sure hand and disposal skills, who needs to be quick? He looks to be equally adept at wheeling left or right and disposing the ball. A solid mark, but not much there in the leaping stakes.

The only question mark for me, is where do you play him?

interesting discussions, if Logan McDonald was available to us at 2, who would we go between Hollands and McDonald? Knightmare rates McDonald as having the potential to be the next Nick Riewoldt, that would be pretty special talent

Remembering this kid is bottom aged in these videos.

He's an absolute powerhouse.

Along with JUH, easily has the highest ceiling in this draft.

Those one handed pick ups and the set shot goal from the Center square at the G are unbelievable. The acl though...........

ACLs aren't the death knell that they used to be (recent ACL reco patient checking in). Surgeons and rehab are getting better and better. Only question is will the ACL let him slip to our second first round pick?

My question mark is, what is his position? I reckon Phillips is more of a sure bet from that perspective, and from the pre-AFL output perspective..

No doubting the kids skill levels though, they are off the charts.

Of course, all of this is based upon nothing more than some clips.

He was preparing to play the full year in the guts when he did his ACL, so that will always be the question mark on him.

Rayner went at #1 though. Not a great example though in retrospect given he hasn't made the transition well.

His bottom age year was very comparable to Petracca, Petracca had his top age year through the midfield though to cement #2.

Mate, if he slips past 5 to ~12, then 6 list managers need rooting with a pineapple.

Freakin' Adelaide could draft him at pick 1!

He's played half forward for most of his underage year as the alpha forward. Defensive responsibility wasn't really high on the priority list for him.

That's not to say he's not good at it, wasn't really required.

He's a potential big bodied mid.

He's certainly not slow either.

Yeah, I made mention of that, he's just really mucking around at that level.

This kid could be the next Sam Mitchell if he can transition to the midfield.

**** me, I wish we had picks 1 & 2.

My understanding is he's a half forward with the intention of moving into the middle pre ACL. Hate to make comparisons, but a lot of the star mids in the comp currently started as half forwards and made the jump (Fyfe, Petracca etc.)

I think there's more of a chance of Phillips slipping through to 5~12 than there is Hollands.

Hollands will go in the top 4 picks, absolute certainty imo.

There's a chance Phillips last to 5,6 or 7 imo.

I have absolutely no doubt Hollands would of gone #1 without the ACL, even ahead of JUH, bid or no bid.

Hollands appears to be an outstanding prospect, with many of the attributes we need- however that injury does concern me. I'm not sure we would take the risk at pick 2, but if we do I wouldn't be unhappy.
I feel we should pair McDonald at pick 2 with another WA boy and Perth Demons teammate in Nathan O'Driscoll who has developed nicely this season. Now a genuine 190cm midfielder, he has a good set of wheels on him and his kicking woes have been greatly exaggerated on this board.
The footage of Archie Perkins was pleasing too, however not convinced he's a top 10 or 12 pick??
