Bailey Laurie is a BFNAAK.
Matt Balmer thinks he might have interest from GWS at Pick 13 because Collingwood would grab him at their picks - assuming they don't trade their picks.
Should we take Bailey Laurie at Pick 11 if Perkins and Cox are off the board?
The club didn't make the trade with Melbourne on the basis of valuations of the 2019 draft, who was available at 8 etc etc, but to give a new management team the best possible resources to work with in the 2020 draft. Rawlings couldn't get a release from WCE to participate in the 2019 draft, and so we effectively held fire for the following year (ie 2020), giving him time to build a new management team (eg Scott Clayton didn't start until Dec 19). The Melbourne trade had nothing to do with Serong (or anyone else), but was part of an overall strategy to give the new football department the best possible hand in their first draft together, which is now.
So of course I have been asking around on who we might draft. And as expected i've got donuts apart from we will draft the best player available with every selection.
So we won't draft a KPF unless we think he's the best, if it's a mid we'll call his name.
My hunch is it will be Hollands with our first if he's still there.

I mentioned a few weeks ago his evasive skills and ability to turn on a dime reminds me of Matt Larkin. Definite consideration.

I know Lachie and Wells both suffered a bit from similar injuries, but his mobility seems fine. I’m more worried about Hollands’ injury.
This time last year he was touted to go 1. So a slider. I like it.
I tell ya what, North and Adelaide are tighter than my shphincter in the lead up to the 99 GF.

Personally I think Adelaide would be crazy to call any other name than Hollands. And I'm ok with that. But I then hope we slap 2 & possibly 11 on the table and somehow walk away with Perkins and Phillips. I'd hate it if we called one of those KP's that would be the easy way out.
I'm also not as concerned as others about our KP stocks.
McKay, Comben, Larkey & Xerri. You need to play them to find out whether they're the real deal. You don't keep drafting back ups in case they don't make it. my opinion is the club is so much smarter now and will continue down the current path which is to inject pace and skill.
Be interesting to see if I'm correct. We still need to replace Atley, Dumont, Tyson, *Will Walker, Bonar and Hall and sooner than later.PLAYERCARDSTART27Will Walker

* yeah I know some rate him, which is par for course round these parts. But Will will be in the shitmen team of the century soon enough.
Fancy not drafting kelly cause of the go home factor, the Cats did well out of that in the end. Invest 5 bucks and make 20 isn't a bad strategy I'd have thought. Of course we'll never do that unprofessional sh*t again.

Perkins and Phillips would be a nice plan B. Maybe even plan A.
Not to mention Jack Watts, Josh FraserWe need to be careful not to be too confident too early.

Speedy hey? Well that might rule Hollands out because apparently he's not super quick but rather powerful. Perkins at pick 2 if speed is what you want?Yeah I've been saying McDonald but I've changed my mind.
I agree, speedy skilled mids that are ready to go not projects and so on.
