I've got a delivery coming through sendle again.

It's travelling from Richmond to Prahran. Roughly 5kms.

It was ready Wednesday
They picked it up Thursday.

...........

I got a confirmation of delivery email from them - "thankyou for choosing to use Sendle for your order!" Maybe that was in the fine print somewhere on the Port Store website when I purchased the book more than a year ago, I can't recall.

Finished reading the lot.
Ripper product. Worth every cent.
Couple of minor fact errors and the odd spelling/punctuation glitch, bt overall classy and professional.

The letter to Jack Dermody was interesting - thanking him and wishing him well on his retirement, in the same breat asking him to recinsider and come back!
How far ahead of his time was Shine Hosking? Those coaching notes on how to play positions was amazing.

Good to see some references to Big Bag Bustling Bruising Bruce Weber. We as supporters and the Club in general are forever indebted to him for his courage and resilience in the face of an enslaught of vitriol and unwarranred hate and abuse. Vale Bruce. Waiting to see a fully deserved life sized statue of him at the entrance to Alberton Oval.
I have a feeling with the way the current admin have been speaking of him recently Bruce will get a prominent position in the new museum in some way shape or form.

Was fortunate enough to get a copy of the Archives collection for my birthday this week, a unbelievable gift, and the best Port Adelaide item I've ever seen or own.

I haven't read the book yet, just briefly skimmed through it but read all the other pieces that come with it was a fantastic read.

Some great family history in there of my own family, and will keep hold of that for when my kids are old enough to savour it and take it all in.

The club went above and beyond with it.

The way it weights, there's a risk of sinking the ship...
When posting that I did think what it would likely cost you in shipping for that monstrous book. I was recently quoted USD 15.00 to ship a average sized paperback from the USA so I shudder to think what you'd be up for.

From page 24 of the club's presentation to the AFL Commission re wearing the PBs in showdown. Found the stuff on the Archives Collection interesting. With pre sale orders and then once for sale in the store that is 2,000 copies.

When it all boils down, this is what Eddie is fighting against. Imagine if we had a decade or two of this type of revenue coming in. That's what he's fearful of.

I get McGuire loves the black and white stripes and that Collingwood hasn't changed the fundamental design of their jumper since they started in 1892.

But he is fearful of Port because we were more successful than them - more premierships before the national comp, didn't go 32 years without a flag, didn't lose as many GF's as them since WWII etc.

Look at how many flags they won in 23 years he was president and how many Port did? Its 1 all.

He fears us being more successful in our black and white compared to theirs. Its why Port have to win the flag this year and get that 3 in 5 years target Richo set.

He knows flags drive revenue and more revenue means more chance to win more flags. Its a keep little brother from taking over the family fortune attitude.
