We haven't got a first round pick. We have very few KPPs, we gain Cameron, lose Moore and Kelly is the only other genuine KPP apart from Cameron.

Think panic has set in.

We've beaten 3 of the current top 4 sides this year.

We lost to the top side back in round 1 by what 7pts.

If we had the injury profile of Brisbane, Geelong and hell even Richmond now we'd be in this Premiership race up to our eyeballs.

We had a mighty victory against the Eagles but the fresh injuries that came out of that game was also the moment we went beyond the tipping point and fell off the cliff.

In saying that we can still gut the list because as most pointed out a lot of our trash hasn't played the last couple years anyway. Which means when we have 80% of who we want on the park our game plan (currently) is working.

We have seen one big name player move clubs at a time but we haven't seen entire club face changing cleanouts yet, like we see in the NBA today. We are always a few years behind though but I think AFL clubs and players are way more loyal and you don't just ship off the face of your club and marquee players for some youth and draft picks. Even clubs that have decided to rebuild do not get rid of their senior leadership and players that are up to it.

Noone has been brave enough to play with all their key assets and change the face of the place yet, and I'd be very surprised to see it so a lot of what is being discussed such as trading Pendlebury, Grundy, Moore, Sidebottom etc. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Why not Jarod Roughead? Has the Hawks IQ, would help our inexperienced forwards develop and is a selfless communicator. I'd rather go that way for 1-2 years than risk say a Patton type deal. Cameron is not going anywhere!

The thing is we don't have enough kpp to trade Moore and despite the injuries, he's still more likely to become a good one than anything we get for him in trade.

How much of a difference Hodge has made is a complete guess. And frankly Hodge had a league wide reputation as an outstanding leader, Pendles doesn't have that reputation. Brisbane were keen to get Hodge for FREE. Nothing to suggest that any club would have paid up for Hodge and it's less likely that any club would pay much for Pendles, as he doesn't have the same leadership reputation. Unless a club is confident that Pendles will become the third bloke in the history of the game to play 400 games, he'd net us very little in trade.

I agree - we have precious few on the list and can ill afford to lose another KP player. But equally, if he stays and he cant get his body right, where are we then?

The challenge is how to get his body right.
